Contract

This is a UNV contract. More about UNV contracts.

The North West and South West Regions of Cameroon are experiencing an armed conflict since 2017. The conflict has negatively affected lives with more than 70% of schools closed and thousands of children put out of school. Hundreds of villages and homes have been raised by flames. The result has been an increased vulnerability of children especially young girls to trafficking and exploitation in the sexual and domestic services sectors. The Norwegian Refugee Council has classified the conflict as the most neglected in the world for the third year running. GLOWA is presently engaged in the development of modules and tools to help in the provision of vocational training to rescued victims of child trafficking and other vulnerable young people especially in the restive North West Region of Cameroon

We seek the services of online volunteer(s) to help with developing the teaching modules and other tools that will help GLOWA in the vocational rehabilitation of its target group in sewing, embroidery, hairdressing, and shoemaking. The volyunteer curriculum developers shall work with the program manager, research associates and Working with other team members including a Subject Master Expert, the volunteers shall break an existing modules into small and teachable components. The tools and modules to be developed should help GLOWA to transform the way survivors of modern slavery are rehabilitated in Cameroon.

The trainees of our program are individuals with limited formal education. In this regards, it is important for volunteer to have adequate knowledge in any of the vocational training options of sewing, embroidery, hairdressing and shoemaking. A knowledge of curriculum development and course content writing will be an added advantage but not mandatory. It is equally important for volunteer to understand that the targeted trainees are emotionally shattered young people whose minds keep wandering and should have short training sessions that facilitate skills development.
