Contract

This is a UNV contract. More about UNV contracts.

MDF has undertaken several projects to help assist ending violence against women and causes of gender based violence. To further the impact of these projects for communities, MDF will be applying for UN Trust Fund’s 27th Grant Cycle. https://untf.unwomen.org/sites/default/files/2023-12/untfevaw_2023_call_for_proposals_final.pdf

This workstream is critical to MDF's commitment on women empowerment as well as for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Some projects conducted by MDF for ending gender based violence include: 1. Women not Witches campaign with support from Oxfam International and Canada Fund 2. GBV Drama Awareness with support from UN Women 3. Women Empowerment Training with support from Hilden Charitable Fund 5. GBV Script Development and Awareness with support from Mereuix Foundation 6. Project Back to Job with support from online volunteers engaged via UNV Online Volunteering service

MDF's current focus on GBV is three fold:

  1. Help the problems of gender based violence in Papua New Guinea
  2. Project Back to Job for enabling acid attack survivors - 80% of victims worldwide are women
  3. To target the priority needs identified in the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. MDF was included in the 2023 SDG Action Weekend as well as included in the SDG Action weekend event Women and Girls "Towards a Rights-centred Gender-Transformative Economy, Including a New International Financial Architecture". The aim of the UN 2023 SDG Action Weekend gathering was to bring stakeholders together to enable turning the SDG midpoint year of 2023 into a tipping point to achieve the SDGs by 2030.

To that end, we are seeking the expertise support from Online Volunteers to assist in the development of proposal on Women Empowerment Projects that will be submitted to the UN Trust Fund call for proposal to end violence against women.

Specifically, the Online Volunteers will be assigned with the following tasks:

Online Volunteer 1: Develop the all-up structure of the proposal document with the team, ensure the team makes progress towards completing the document.

Online Volunteers 2, 3, and 4: Work together to write the proposal for combating violence against women and girls and submit project concepts aimed at ending violence against marginalized women and girls. Leverage information from: a) MDF's existing work and upcoming work b) Research on any new project concept that further MDF's objective c) Include needed details in the proposal as given on https://untf.unwomen.org/sites/default/files/2023-12/untfevaw_2023_call_for_proposals_final.pdf

Online Volunteer 5: Edit and review the document as it's created and in the end.
