Morobe Development Foundation (MDF) has long collaborated with Online Volunteers through the UNV Unified Volunteer Platform (UVP) to advance research and projects addressing environmental challenges such as forest cover loss, land use change, water quality, and coastal habitat protection. As MDF’s scope of work expands to include broader community development initiatives, effective communication and outreach have become increasingly vital.
To strengthen its impact, MDF is seeking dedicated Facebook Administrators to manage its official account and enhance engagement with diverse audiences. This role involves overseeing the MDF Facebook presence, ensuring timely updates on projects, promoting collaboration with online volunteers, and fostering dialogue with community stakeholders, partners, and the general public. By maintaining a dynamic and professional online presence, administrators will help MDF operate efficiently, amplify its visibility, and build stronger connections across local and global networks.
This assignment directly supports MDF’s mission to build capacity, promote sustainable rural development in Papua New Guinea, and contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
Goal 13: Climate Action – Raising awareness and mobilizing support for climate resilience initiatives.
Goal 15: Life on Land – Promoting sustainable forest management and conservation efforts.
Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals – Strengthening collaboration with volunteers, communities, and international partners through digital engagement.
By combining account management with community engagement, this role ensures that MDF’s projects and research outcomes are effectively communicated, inspiring action and collaboration for a more sustainable future.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Volunteer 1: Content Creation and Publishing: - Develop and schedule engaging posts that highlight MDF’s projects, research findings, and community initiatives by creating graphics, writing captions, and sharing updates that communicate MDF’s mission clearly to diverse audiences. Ensure content aligns with MDF’s values and supports awareness of environmental and community development goals.
Volunteer 2: Community Engagement and Moderation - Foster dialogue and interaction with followers, volunteers, and stakeholders through the MDF Facebook page by responding to comments and messages, encouraging constructive discussions, and building a welcoming online community that supports collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Volunteer 3: Outreach and Partnerships - Use Facebook as a platform to strengthen MDF’s partnerships with local communities, online volunteers, and international collaborators. by promoting volunteer opportunities, highlight collaborative projects, and share calls to action that encourage participation and support for MDF’s initiatives.
Volunteer 4: Analytics and Quality Assurance - Monitor page performance and ensure the quality and consistency of all published content by tracking engagement metrics, analyze audience reach, and refine strategies based on data insights. Guarantee that all posts are accurate, professional, and aligned with MDF’s communication goals.
Collaborative Effort: All volunteers will work together to ensure MDF’s Facebook presence is cohesive, impactful, and aligned with organizational objectives. This includes: - Reviewing: Assessing posts and graphics for accuracy, tone, and consistency. - Enhancing: Improving content quality and presentation to maximize engagement. - Feedback Integration: Incorporating input from MDF supervisors and fellow volunteers to maintain a unified communication strategy.
