You have:

  • High school diploma with 7 years relevant experience or University degree in either Social Studies, Environmental Health, Occupational Health, Public Health or related field with five years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in environmental and social safeguards (ESS) programs, environmental health, occupational health, or public health related programs.
  • Good in written communication in English and Bangla.
  • Computer skills in MS Word, Excel, data management, analysis and Power point.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, self-paced and able to work independently.
  • Knowledge of the policies, procedures, and practices of the UN, World Bank, and other international organizations is considered an asset.
  • Ability to prepare publications, reports and presentations.
  • Ability to synthesize relevant collected data and findings for the preparation of case studies and progress reports.

Contract

This is a G-7 contract. This kind of contract is known as General Service and related categories. It is normally only for nationals. It usually requires 7 years of experience, depending on education. More about G-7 contracts.

Under the direct supervision of the Monitoring & Evaluation Officer and technical guidance of the National Programme Officer (HSS) and the Emergency Health Program Coordinator, and under the overall supervision of the Programme Support Coordinator in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, the successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating health projects.This role focuses on reporting and monitoring of the World Bank ISO project Environmental and Social Standards of the program. The position will require identifying environmental and social risks and impacts, and monitoring and reporting on cross-cutting issues across all health projects. The role will also contribute to strengthening broader Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems within the Programme Support Unit (PSU), ensuring consistency, data quality, and alignment with organizational and donor requirements.

EDUCATION

High school diploma with 7 years relevant experience or

University degree in either Social Studies, Environmental Health, Occupational Health, Public Health or related field with five years of relevant experience.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in environmental and social safeguards (ESS) programs, environmental health, or occupational health, or public health related programs.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation of programs and capacity building
  • Experience working with governments or international organization is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the policies, procedures, and practices of the UN, World Bank, and other international organizations is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with populations in need, and accountability mechanisms.

SKILLS

  • Good in written communication in English and Bangla

REQUIRED: For this position, fluency in English and Bengali is required (oral and written).

Responsibilities

  1. Environmental and Social Code of Practice (ESCoP) Screening and implementation: Support the implementation of ESCoP assessments and screening for all activities under the ISO project both in IOM and IP run health facilities.
  2. Labor Management Procedures (LMP): Support the Project Focal Point in adopting and implementing LMP, including provisions on working conditions, occupational health and safety (e.g., personal protective equipment and emergency preparedness and response), code of conduct (particularly related to SEA/SH), and grievance mechanisms/Accountability to Affected Populations.
  3. Waste Management Plan: Ensure that all medical waste management practices align with the relevant code of practice as outlined in the ESCoP and are consistent with applicable Environmental and Social Standards (ESS) (WHO and IOM guidelines)
  4. Community Health and Safety: Identify project-related risks and impacts to community health and safety and recommend appropriate mitigation measures into the ESCoP.
  5. SEA and SH risk: Identify the risks of sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEA/SH) associated with project implementation, and participate in the development and implementation of a SEA/SH Action Plan in line with organizational policies.
  6. Field Monitoring, Data Collection, and Survey Support: Support M&E Officer in the implementation of monitoring activities through developing data collection tools, regular field visits to project sites to verify reported data and ensure adherence to M&E standards. Assist in the design and coordination of surveys and assessments (e.g., PDMs, outcome monitoring).
  7. Data Management, Analysis, and Reporting: Support data cleaning, validation, and basic quantitative analysis using tools such as Excel and Kobo.
  8. Result Framework: Assist in tracking and reporting on key indicators, support the review and updating of results frameworks, and coordinate with programme teams to ensure alignment between activities, indicators, and reporting requirements.
  9. Monitoring and evaluation and partnership support: Support in providing quality assurance, monitoring and evaluation and technical support in partnership management for implementing partners as per the needs for the program. Ensure that all reporting requirements are met with regards to incidents, in accordance with project guidelines.
  10. Perform other duties as may be assigned.
