You have:
- HND/BSc in Agricultural Engineering, Welding/Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering, or any other related course.
- A minimum of Five (5) years’ experience in performing similar role in a well-structured environment.
- Professional certification/Training in Occupational Health & Safety (e.g. NEBOSH, OSHA, or Nigerian equivalent) is desirable.
- Skilled in MIG, TIG, stick, and gas welding techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans.
- Strong knowledge of metals, alloys, and welding consumables.
- Experience with CNC cutting or advanced metalworking tools.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and strict adherence to workplace safety standards.
- Experience working with ERP systems or work order tracking software.
- Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Position: Senior Fabricator/ Welder
Contract: 2-year renewable contract Location: Ibadan
Closing Date: 25 November 2025
DUTIES:
- Weld and repair farm machinery and implements, including tractors, irrigation equipment, and heavy-duty tools.
- Fabricate metal structures for research facilities (screenhouses, greenhouses, irrigation frames, trial plot fencing).
- Measure, cut and prepare metal materials according to design specifications.
- Employ appropriate welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick welding, arc welding, gas welding, etc.) to produce strong, precise, and safe welds.
- Carry out preventative maintenance on welded structures to ensure long-term durability and reduce replacement costs.
- Maintain safe working conditions and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Keep accurate daily records of welding and fabrication activities, including materials used and labor hours (to support cost-recovery tracking).
- Provide input to equipment investment plans by reporting recurring fabrication/repair needs.
- Train and guide junior welders or casual staff on proper welding techniques and safety practices.
- Perform any other job-related tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
