Weld and fabricate farm machinery, ensuring safety compliance and quality.

You have:

  • HND/BSc in Agricultural Engineering, Welding/Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering, or any other related course.
  • A minimum of Five (5) years’ experience in performing similar role in a well-structured environment.
  • Professional certification/Training in Occupational Health & Safety (e.g. NEBOSH, OSHA, or Nigerian equivalent) is desirable.
  • Skilled in MIG, TIG, stick, and gas welding techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans.
  • Strong knowledge of metals, alloys, and welding consumables.
  • Experience with CNC cutting or advanced metalworking tools.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and strict adherence to workplace safety standards.
  • Experience working with ERP systems or work order tracking software.
  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Position: Senior Fabricator/ Welder

Contract: 2-year renewable contract Location: Ibadan

Closing Date: 25 November 2025

DUTIES:

  • Weld and repair farm machinery and implements, including tractors, irrigation equipment, and heavy-duty tools.
  • Fabricate metal structures for research facilities (screenhouses, greenhouses, irrigation frames, trial plot fencing).
  • Measure, cut and prepare metal materials according to design specifications.
  • Employ appropriate welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick welding, arc welding, gas welding, etc.) to produce strong, precise, and safe welds.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance on welded structures to ensure long-term durability and reduce replacement costs.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Keep accurate daily records of welding and fabrication activities, including materials used and labor hours (to support cost-recovery tracking).
  • Provide input to equipment investment plans by reporting recurring fabrication/repair needs.
  • Train and guide junior welders or casual staff on proper welding techniques and safety practices.
  • Perform any other job-related tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION:

HND/BSc in Agricultural Engineering, Welding/ Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering, or any other related course. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of Five (5) years’ experience in performing similar role in a well-structured environment.

Professional certification/ Training in Occupational Health & Safety (e.g. NEBOSH, OSHA, or Nigerian equivalent) is desirable.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of and strict adherence to workplace safety standards, including proper use of PPE and safe handling of welding and fabrication equipment.
  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have experience working with ERP systems or work order tracking software.
