Job Overview

The senior benefits coordinator will be responsible for managing and planning day-to-day operations of IRC’s US benefits and retirement plan programs. To act as the liaison with vendors and colleagues within HR and other departments such as finance, IT and legal. In charge of employee communication and education on all benefit plans throughout the year. Oversees the annual open enrollment process, outsourced benefits service center and leave management process. Assist with global projects. This role will report to the Director, Global Benefits and be part of IRC’s global compensation, benefits & global mobility team.

Major Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of US benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, accident plan, flexible spending plan, etc.). Build tools, process improvement, training and coaching regarding ongoing benefits management

• Project manage the annual Open Enrollment process from beginning to end including drafting communications, plan design changes, UAT, answering employee questions, and auditing enrollment data

• Administer and implement recurring and ad-hoc audits to ensure accurate processing of benefit elections, carrier interfaces, payroll files, etc.

• Help identify and troubleshoot process breakdowns, revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and communicate process changes

• Support with administering the leaves of absence programs

• Develop employee communications related to benefits programs

• Act as an employee advocate and provide sensitive employee assistance concerning obtaining or clarifying benefits during key life events and other difficult circumstances to improve the overall employee experience

• Provide consultative support to HR and other departments

• Special Projects - these projects will focus on global benefits and minimum standards.

Job Requirements

• 4-6 years of experience and thorough knowledge of human resources, benefits administration, and leaves of absence

• Practiced at managing vendor relationships

• Experienced at managing benefits across multiple states

• Understanding of ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, Section 125, IRS, and other regulatory requirements.

• Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent work experience

• A natural self-starter who is focused on serving our colleagues

• Must be a great teammate with solid attention to detail and ability to work independently

• Proven track record at delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment

• Experience working with internal clients/partners.

• Experience with project management and delivering special HR projects.

• Ability to quickly build strong working relationships, deploy influence, with managers and staff at all levels.

US Benefits:

We offer a comprehensive and highly competitive set of benefits. Compensation:

Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
