Bubalum Guest House is proposed to be built in Busamang Village which is 20 minutes by boat from the city of Lae. The project area geographical context includes beautiful waterfalls, white sandy beach, swaying palms and around 23,000 hectares of virgin rainforest. Maus Buang which is located between Labu and Busamang itself is a nesting site for the endangered leatherback turtle which arrive at the shores from October to January every year to lay eggs.

Bubalum Guest House is proposed to be constructed close to the Bubalum Water Fall in Busamang Village, Salamaua Rural LLG, Huon District, Morobe Province. Busamang Village is located at a bearing of Longitude 146.966102, Latitude -6.980909 with an altitude of xx m. Busamang Itself has a population of 918 persons, with 233 house hold , 477 males and 441 females (2011 population, NSO). The village has a geography of white sandy beach, water falls, and rainforest and is a popular nesting ground for the endangered Leatherback Turtle which comes to lay eggs during the month of October up to January. The village economic income is mostly fresh fish and shells, sago and lime which are brought to the Lae market. The project is in line with MDF objectives to develop communities and also is in line with Sustainable Development Goals 11. Sustainable Cities and Communities.

MDF requires the services of 3 Online Volunteers with Architecture background to review a proposal and to prepare a winning architectural design, drawing and costing. Each of the three online volunteer/s will be assign to review a proposal and provide one aspect of the tasks of design, drawing and costing respectively which will be submitted to MDF as a leading community group in Papua New Guinea who strive to develop rural communities by facilitating and implementing community projects such as water supply, mini grid electrification program and other community projects.

The Online Volunteers will be reviewing a proposal to help MDF. The task simply involves communicating with the contact person for MDF who will provide the baseline information and to discuss project idea base on the actual proposal. Therefore, the volunteers will benefit from the recognition of their services by issuance of a certificate of appreciation from UNV.

Candidate must have a degree in Architect or community development and must have a proposal review experience.

PhD and Master's students are encouraged to apply.
