The manuscript on Environmental Law analyzes the differences in legal protection of biodiversity in Papua New Guinea vs. globally. PNG is home to a very diverse environment, and is being exploited because of flaws in said legal protection. The work discusses why biodiversity is crucial to the modern world, what affects it, how humans benefit from it, and more.

This assignment is essential to support MDF in achieving its vision and objective: to address issues on environment and climate change that align with the Government Medium Term Goals and UN Development Agendas. Subsequently, the main goal is to improve human quality of life for a sustainable livelihood. This paper will be be beneficial to both students, the community, and decision makers, as well as donors.

The online volunteers will be required to undertake the task of reading environmental protection law and policy, as well as assisting MDF in reviewing 5 documents relating to this subject, identifying errors and corrections in the documents, and also assisting MDF in creating 1 document with around 3500 words that comply with local PNG legal norms and international environmental law. This task will benefit the online volunteers to learn and apply international environmental law and its related policies, while also contributing to the development of the MDF.

Candidates should have strong research and analytical skills. Background knowledge and working experience in Papua New Guinea, law, and environmental protection is desirable. A degree in a related field is considered an asset.
