You have:
- HND/Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Agriculture or related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience performing similar role in a well-structured environment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience in facility maintenance and basic data handling.
- Familiarity with digital tools for data entry and reporting (e.g., Excel, Google Forms).
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture on behalf of ILRI seeks suitable Nigeria Nationals for the positions below at the Institute’s headquarter in Ibadan.
Position: Research Assistant – Facility Maintenance
Duration: 6 months’ renewable Location: Ibadan
Closing Date: 23 October 2025
DUTIES:
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of research infrastructure, including animal housing, water systems, and equipment.
- Assist in repairs and upkeep of farm and laboratory facilities.
- Ensure safety standards are maintained across all operational areas.
- Support logistics for field and lab activities, including equipment setup and transport.
- Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
- Perform any other duty as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION:
HND/Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Agriculture or related field with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience performing similar role in a well-structured environment.

- Have strong organizational and communication skills.
- Be experienced in facility maintenance and basic data handling.
