This assignment supports an environmental study in Lababia Village, Papua New Guinea led by the Morobe Development Foundation in partnership with local communities. The study aims to assess environmental changes and impacts to inform conservation programs and sustainable development planning.
To support MDF in achieving its objective of addressing climate change and its impact, environmental damage, and ecosystem deterioration in the country, we are seeking to collaborate with Online Volunteers through this assignment. Specifically, to support GIS mapping and literature review on landslide and earthquake occurrence for the mapping process in the Study.
We are seeking to collaborate with 3 Online Volunteers - who are experts in GIS with knowledge in tremor, geology, etc. Specifically, Online Volunteers are expected to do 3 literature reviews and submit a 3-page report to MDF PNG. The reviews will be tabulated together with the ground data captured in the field, analyzed and conclusions drawn.
The results will help MDF PNG to refine the Environmental Impact Plan it is currently drafting and help in contributing to other papers on shoreline depletion and mangrove assessment in the study area.
The Online Volunteers will be acknowledged for their contribution and will be issued a certificate from the UNV portal. MDF will further issue them a reference and can provide them with a reference in the future.
