You have:

  • 2 years of relevant professional experience in the field of Bassikounou context
  • High school diploma plus certificate in Computer Sciences
  • Excellent computer skills, in particular in MS Office applications
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Working experience with MSRP is an asset

Contract

This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Registration Officer or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer will:

• Participate in the collection and updating of refugee data as part of the registration of refugees outside the camp and their biometrics;
• Enter and update all personal information/data in the proGres database according to the standard procedure in vigor • File all refugee records and files in a box on a daily basis • Proceed to the registration of new refugees in the proGres database (of the UNHCR) • Perform any other tasks requested by the supervisor as needed • Identify individuals with specific needs and ensure timely referral for protection follow-up. • Conduct registration interviews in accordance with standard operating procedures and established guidelines. • Maintain accurate and current records and data regarding all individual registration cases. • Maintain and regularly update inventories of computer equipment and any materials within the scope of said activity • Collaborate with protection staff and/or partners in the provision of assistance and programming, including the provision of identity and entitlement documents. • Act as interpreter and translator as needed. • Perform other related duties as needed.

UN Volunteers should be provided equal duty of care as extended to all host entity personnel. Host entities support to the UN Volunteer includes, but is not limited to:

• Introductory briefings about the organisation and office-related context including security, emergency procedures, good cultural practice, and orientation to the local environment ; • Support with arrival administration and official processes as required ; • Structured guidance, mentoring and coaching by a supervisor including a clear workplan and performance appraisal ; • Access to office space, equipment, IT support and any other systems and tools required to complete the objectives of the assignment including a host entity email address ; • Access to shared host entity corporate knowledge, training and learning ; • Ensure that UN Volunteers are provided all necessary security measures as per the United Nations Security Management System (UNSMS) ; • Leave management; • DSA for official travel, when applicable; • All changes in the Description of Assignment occurring between recruitment and arrival or during the assignment need to be formalized with the United Nations Volunteer Programme; • Investigate misconduct: sharing reports with the UNV; • Provide emergency assistance, e.g. the death of volunteer or medical evacuation, in collaboration with UNV. Accept letters of guarantees or potential liabilities for covering medical costs not claimable under medical insurance in extraordinary situations (e.g. isolation facilities` services during pandemics).

Required Experience: 2 years

• High school diploma plus certificate in Computer Sciences

• Have at least 2 years relevant professional experience in the field of Bassikounou context

• Excellent computer skills, in particular in MS Office applications. Excellent communication skills.

• Working experience with MSRP is an asset

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials.
