Duties and Responsibilities

Background: The UN System Workplace Mental Health and Well-being Strategy for 2024 and beyond was approved and launched in late 2023. The strategy identifies 12 key indicators based on the ‘Mental Health at Work Policy Brief’ published by WHO and ILO in 2022. This strategy builds on the work undertaken during implementation of the inaugural mental health and well-being strategy (2018-23). The 2024 and beyond strategy outlines 12 indicators and areas for action for UN Organizations. In order to assist UN Organizations to make progress in implementing the indicators, a number of guidance resources and tools need to be developed. The system-wide implementation of the strategy is governed by an inter-agency Implementation Board. The Board has identified communication and engagement as a key priority. A Project Manager is required to lead relevant projects and provide relevant technical guidance. The duties and responsibilities of the Project Manager are to: • Develop learning materials based on the existing Lead and Learn programme for leaders and managers, HR professionals and other stakeholder groups, including videos and micro-learning products, etc. • Convene and manage the working group and other key stakeholders to seek input on development of guidance to create a mentally healthy workplace. • Develop guidance on actions leaders can take to create a mentally healthy workplace, including coaching guides and talking toolbox resources for managers, etc. • Prepare recommendations for performance measures for leaders and managers. • Develop website content.

Qualifications/special skills

Master’s degree in Public Health, Learning, Communication, Human Resources, Mental Health or related area is required. A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) with two additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree. A minimum of 7 years of experience in managing projects/programmes and working on workplace mental health or leadership programmes is required. Experience developing learning products required. Experience managing multiple stakeholders in a complex environment is required. Experience in the multilateral sector and/or Peacekeeping, Humanitarian Relief/ Development is desirable.

Languages

For this consultancy, fluency in English is required.
