This UNV assignment will be under the UNICEF Planning, Monitoring and Data (PMD) section. The PMD section is responsible for managing a Long-Term Arrangement (LTA) with companies providing Human Resource services. The role will support this function and ensure that there is up to date information on Extenders which is critical for management decision making. The role will engage with other UNICEF Programme Sections, Supply and the LTA holders.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Programme Officer or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV [Programme Assistant] will:

• Support the coordination and management of long-term agreements with Extender Long Term Agreement (LTA) firms. • Manage Extender database including updating, maintaining records, checking data accuracy, completeness and conduct data cleaning to improve data quality. • Lead data analysis of Extender data and produce the monthly Extender update for sharing with management. • Collect feedback and grievances from Extenders and channel them to the relevant sections for addressing and feedback. • Support sections to conduct Extender performance management and review for extenders. • Organize mandatory trainings for Extenders and ensure that all Extenders conduct mandatory trainings within the stipulated timelines. • Support Programme Sections to conduct section specific trainings for Extenders and ensure that sections collaborate on common trainings. • Organize review meetings where UNICEF collects feedback from Extenders which is used for planning and decision making. • Organize review meetings between UNICEF and LTA holders to reflect on the issues affecting Extenders. • Act as the Secretary for the Extender Taskforce meeting. • Maintain up to date filing system on the Planning and Monitoring Data share-point site to make storing and retrieval of Extender information easy. • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Furthermore, UN Volunteers are encouraged to integrate the UN Volunteers programme mandate within their assignment and promote voluntary action through engagement with communities in the course of their work. As such, UN Volunteers should dedicate a part of their working time to some of the following suggested activities:

• Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day). • Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country. • Provide annual and end of assignment self-reports on UN Volunteer actions, results and opportunities.
• Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc. • Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly arrived UN Volunteers. • Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.

project management, human resource management or administration or other relevant programmes; experience with data entry and analysis skills is an asset, as is experience working in the UN or other international development organization; • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills. • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing. • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development. • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel. • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment. • Advanced skills in excel and PowerPoint, report writing in English. • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines. • Sound security awareness. • Have affinity with or interest in Child protection and Child Rights, volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System.

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials.

Entitlement;
