Job Description

Job Overview:

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is one of the leading providers of high-quality programming for refugees resettling to the United States. Switchboard is a one-stop resource hub for refugee service providers in the United States, supported by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) and implemented by the IRC in partnership with Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS). Switchboard is seeking a Digital Content Manager. This staff person will be responsible for ensuring that the digital content on Switchboard’s is up-to-date and accessible to Switchboard’s audience of refugee service providers. This staff person may be located anywhere in the United States.

Major Responsibilities:

· Continually upload new content on Switchboard’s website using WordPress back-end content management systems (publish and update pages, blog posts, and multiple custom post types)

· Together with Communications Manager, manage integrations with social media accounts (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook) and online newsletter platform (MailChimp) to ensure content is disseminated widely and consistently

· Together with Switchboard’s web design and development staff, ensure maximum visibility and use of all new and existing Switchboard resources

· Research and recommend innovative digital content management practices that Switchboard should incorporate

· Contribute to needs assessment analysis process to ensure feedback on digital content is collected and incorporated into Switchboard’s annual workplan

· Provide input into Switchboard reports, including monthly activity updates and semi-annual Performance Progress Reports.

Job Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree in digital asset management, information science, or other relevant field (or equivalent experience)

· Minimum two years of experience in digital asset management, information science, website maintenance, or related field

· Strong knowledge of WordPress content management, including basic HTML (coding experience not required)

· Strong understanding of the digital landscape, social media platforms, and what makes digital content work

· Experience contributing to project M&E (data collection, management, and reporting)

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Ability to effectively manage complex projects with strict timelines

· Preferred: Familiarity with refugee resettlement and Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR)-funded programs

This position is contingent on receipt of grant funding.

Working Environment: Standard office and/or remote working environment. This role may require working remotely full or part time and part time remote employees may be required to share workspace.
