Scope of work

We are looking for a Program Development and Grants Officer who will assist:

a) the enhanced fundraising/proposal and writing efforts of IRC Hellas strive to sustain, strengthen and expand its programs in Greece in line with its revised Strategic Action Plan (SAP) 2022-2024, by supporting the development and writing of new proposals, identifying new funding opportunities encouraging relations with existing and potential donors as well as developing new partnerships) and

b) the grant management and oversight of grants and partnerships management processes for IRC Hellas, in line with internal and donor requirements, collaborate to produce high-quality donor reports and provide support to business development for ongoing and new programs

Responsibilities

I. Program Development – Fundraising (50% of the level of effort)

- Supports IRC Greece in proactive engagement with potential and existing donors for fundraising to implement its Strategic Action Plan (SAP) 2022-2024 and to maintain a good relationship. - Assists the process of concept notes and donor proposals by working closely with the IRC Greece Program Leads, Head of Programs, Senior Management Team, Technical Advisors, and the IRC Regional Office and Headquarters. - Regularly supervises databases and other sources to assist in identifying, tracking, and updating new funding and partnership opportunities across various technical sectors and donors, including institutional, private, and donations. - Supports stages of proposal writing and development for a variety of donors, including the development of proposal schedules, writing of non-technical parts, synthesis and editing input from program staff, contribution to and review of log frames and deliverables, support budget development, ensuring compliance with donor guidelines and regulations and IRC policies and procedures, and collection of support documentation, if needed. - Handles and improves internal business development tracking and monitoring tools, chipping into the development of fundraising materials, presentations, and pitches, as assigned.

II. Grant Management (50% of the level of effort).

- Maintains the role of the focal point for donors (local and EU) regarding general management and oversight of grants. Under the supervision of the Grants Manager, coordinates meetings with existing donors and leads all aspects of the progress of grants currently being implemented. - Undertakes the coordination of external reporting to donors while collaborating with the Head of Programs, Program leads, and the IRC Regional Office. - Assists program leads and teams with compliance and donor guidance issues. - Coordinates internal opening, review, and closing meetings for all grants. - Assists the Grants department with internal tools, meetings, filing, and other administrative tasks.

Key working relationships

- Position Reports to Grants Manager - Internal collaborations within IRC; Grants (Grants Manager, Senior Program Development Officer, Senior Grants & Partnerships Officer); Finance; M&E; All program teams; Regional Pre and Post Award Regional Management team; Headquarters and International Philanthropy and Partnerships (IPP) team. - External collaborations to IRC: IRC donors, partners, and collaborators.

Required Qualifications

- University degree in international relations, business administration or relevant subject area. - Minimum two years of proposal writing experience. Work experience in non-profits/NGOs is preferred. - Excellent written and interpersonal skills in both Greek and English; native Greek-speaking and writing skills are a preferred asset. - Proven record of developing successful proposals and managing grants for various donors, including UN agencies, National AMIF, Regions (Prefectures), ESPA, EEA Grants, ESF+, European Commission (DG Justice, DG Home, DG Employ, Erasmus+, Horizon 2020). - Experience with private fundraising, foundations, and companies is a plus. - Minimum two years’ experience in managing grants (reporting, compliance, rules, general guidance) - Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Strong presentation/editing and/or ability to visualize data is a plus.

Work environment

This position will be based out in Athens, Greece. Some remote working days are possible.
