Agency: U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Organization: Bureau for Inclusive Growth, Partnerships, and Innovation, Private Sector Engagement Hub (IPI/PSE) Position Title/Series/Grade: Private Enterprise Officer, FL-0301-02 Location of Position: Washington, DC Telework/Remote Eligibility: Telework eligible four days per pay period (two days per week). The position is not remote eligible. Open Period: May 16, 2024 – May 31, 2024 Appointment Type: This is an excepted service, time-limited appointment that is not to exceed two years and four months with the potential for two two-year extensions. Description of Organization: IPI integrates technical expertise with values-driven, cross-cutting priorities and modern approaches to the way USAID performs its work. It provides client-centered technical services to USAID’s Missions worldwide; supports programming to innovate, learn, and address emerging issues; and provides technical leadership within the Agency and externally to enhance development impact.

The PSE Hub supports the Agency in advancing the use of market-based approaches and PSE to deliver development and humanitarian results across all sectors. The PSE Hub spearheads USAID’s efforts to foster a major cultural and operational transformation in the way we conceive, design, and deliver our assistance in partnership with the private sector. The PSE Hub helps to create the internal and external conditions for impactful, evidence-informed engagement with the private sector at scale. The PSE Hub is structured around four strategic goals—make PSE easier for staff, improve the partner experience, improve the use of evidence, and expand USAID’s toolkit for PSE—and workstreams for programs, operations, and communications to support the PSE Hub’s mission.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen;
  • Must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (FS-03/GS-13) of this position;
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to both internal and external stakeholders;
  • Background related to social impact, PSE, economics, financial markets, and/or mobilizing private finance for development is preferred; and
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance.
