This task is a crucial part of our broader effort to enhance the accessibility and usability of our visual assets, thereby improving our ability to tell impactful stories and elevate our communication efforts. By creating a taxonomy, uploading, and tagging photos, you will be enabling quicker search and retrieval of relevant images. This enhances our reports, articles, presentations, and website with the appropriate visuals. Through this role, the online volunteer will contribute significantly to UNCDF's mission.
The United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) is seeking a detail-oriented volunteer to create a new taxonomy for our large photo library. This involves uploading approximately 15,000 photos to our photobank and tagging each photo based on the developed taxonomy. This task requires a structured approach and keen attention to detail. All work will involve the use of Adobe Lightroom, our chosen digital asset management platform.
The daily logistics of the task involve using Adobe Lightroom to create the taxonomy, upload, and tag the photos. The online volunteer must have stable internet access, as all the work will be performed online. We anticipate at least a weekly status update via email or a virtual meeting to discuss progress and address any potential challenges. However, the actual working hours are flexible as we understand everyone has unique commitments.
The ideal online volunteer will have experience with Adobe Lightroom, creating digital taxonomies, categorizing and tagging digital content, and photo manipulation software. They should be comfortable with handling large data sets and ensuring accuracy and attention to detail throughout the process. Familiarity with digital asset management systems is desired. Knowledge about UNCDF’s work and an interest in storytelling through photographs will be a distinct advantage.
