BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF ASSIGNMENT

The Corporate Performance and Planning Division (CPP) in WFP was created' to strengthen WFP.'s capacity to implement its Strategic Plan, to measure our impact on alleviating hunger through food assistance, and to advance results-based performance and accountability across the organization.

CPP is responsible for: leading, communicating and supporting performance reporting: Coordination of all efforts towards demonstrating WFPs' organizational performance through its Annual Performance Report (APRI), Annual Country Reports {ACRs) and thematic report s, where/as relevant; further, the coordination of management responses. to the recommendations of evaluations provides CPP/RMP the opportunity to track the application of lessons learned to shar e in reporting platforms as well as programme design and implementation status.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Under the supervision of the CPPP Chief (Performance Reporting) and in close collaboration with CPP colleagues and throughout WFP the incumbent will:

  • Support CPPP in it s OIM and Performance reporting function by coordinating, monitoring and leading
  • communication with the OIM reporting network. Responsibilities will include drafting of SOPs, ToRs, concept note and phased plan, project management and liaising with counterparts in EME and HR.
  • Support CPPP with the provision of normative guidance for UN Info and ensure its alignment of the Corporate Results Framework 2022-2025 guidance as well as supporting the communication with the UN network.
  • Support CPPP in development of communications and visual content management Annual Country Reports and Annual Performance Report. .
  • Coordinate and oversee the production of reporting specific visibility products, ensuring consistency with .
  • corporate message , and technical CPP documents, so that key clients are informed in a timely and transparent manner about CPPP's activities - including brochures, factsheets, infographics, photos, videos and audio for use across a range of integrated online platforms - as they relate to annual reporting, particularly focused on Annual Country Reports.
  • Collaborate with counterparts in WFP divisions, ensuring an aligned and consistent approach to inform action
  • management, analysis and performance reporting.
  • Internally, prepare presentations for high level and working meetings to enhance coverage of activities.
  • Internally update and disseminate on WFP online platforms (WFPGo, Yammer, Go.Docs, etc.) various products and articles as they relate to performance reporting
  • Act as focal point for EME and Supply Chain divisions within the overall annual performance
  • reporting cycle, with focus on Annual Country Reports.
  • Other duties as required

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT

  • A wide array of quality communications, documents, articles, presentations, guidelines, prepare and updated, in response to divisional and departmental reporting needs and socialized appropriately internally and externally.
  • Contributions made towards assuring up to date performance reporting information in various corporate platforms, dashboards, and tool.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Advanced university degree in communication, media studies, journalism, marketing, information managemen,t social sciences or related fields (or first University degree with additional years of related work experience or trainings/courses).

Experience: 3 -5 years of progressively responsible related experience (information management, communication, advocacy, marketing, social science or related fields), with a background/ interest in international humanitarian development.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience in reporting and communication activities required, strong understanding of OIM concepts and principles, best practices, techniques and processes;
  • Ability to produce high-quality written materials, including graphically- based PowerPoint presentations as well as text documents;
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze and interpret information and draw out the key messages;
  • Strong interpersonal skill s to effectively coordinate and tactfully liaise with a broad spectrum of people at all levels and across different cultures;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, able to clearly articulate insights to stakeholders in WFP;
  • Strong project management and coordination skills
  • Action management skills (time management, organization, judgement) to ensure ability to balance competing priorities successfully, and to work to tight deadlines;
  • Self-motivated and able to work with a high degree of autonomy and ability to lead.
  • Experience in using Adobe ln Design, Illustrator and Photoshop to produce high-quality and print-based media;
  • Demonstrable experience in leading communication and/or marketing projects and driving them through success;
  • Fully committed and motivated to represent and achieve the aims of the World Food Programme.
  • Experience working in UN organizations, particularly across functions and divisions in WFP.

Languages: Level C (fluent) in written and spoken English, knowledge of a second UN language is an asset.
