MDF, that promotes volunteerism in its core and significantly supported by volunteers in its implementation, is conducting research to better understand policy developments in various focused areas and SDGs implementation in Papua New Guinea, and how MDF works can continue to support the community development. In that regard, we wish to collaborate with Online Volunteers in carrying this research through this assignment which in line with MDFs overarching goal in developing the rural areas in PNG addressing areas that are impeding development, affecting women, the community and the youth.

The data and information gathered will be compiled into a grand report which will be used as a reference when developing a paper for further publication. The results of this research and survey activities will be presented to public that intends to inform broader audience on the findings related to policy development and SDGs implementation in PNG.

The task requires 5 online volunteers to conduct online research in this specific areas: a) Gender Based Violence and UN SDGs addressing GBV in PNG, Violence prevention initiatives, Gender empowerment solutions b) Community Development and UN SGSs addressing development in the rural context c) Disaster Risk reduction strategies, and policy development in this area inline with UN SDG d) Poverty and LNOB strategies e) Youth and Elderly empowerment and participation f) Resilience strategies

The Online Volunteers will conduct online research, extracting vital information, compiling a report and making it available to the contact person for MDF PNG. Further, the Online Volunteers are also expected to get the required data and analyze the data using various analytical tool available.

  • Must have active experience in research in social issues and issues affecting a developing country
  • Must be able to collect data, analyze and report the findings in a scientific method.
  • Must have a qualifications in social science, political science or communication for community development
  • PhD students in this area are encouraged to apply
