Background

The assignment is in the Human Resources Section of Bangladesh Country Office and reports to the Chief Human Resources. The focus of HR Analyst assignment is on the provision of specialized activities pertaining to the HR data and information management (IM) and systems, analyzing and reporting, as well as increase capacity of HR staff in the area of HR IM and HR systems. The assignment also performs general office support functions.

Objectives, Purpose and Expected Results

Under the supervision and guidance of the Chief Human Resources, the Human Resources Analyst provides administrative, procedural and operational support and assistance to the efficient implementation of information management function in Human Resources (HR analytics) ensuring accurate and timely delivery that is in compliance with UNICEF HR rules and regulations.

The incumbent work off their own initiative to support HR information systems (eg, Vision, TMS and Achieve), HR data and information management, HR reporting and KPIs monitoring, as well as systems & IM capacity building for HR staff. Part of their duties will be also general office support including records management.

Description of Assignment

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

1.HR data analytics

  • Collect, interpret and analyze HR data to help inform decision making on HR processes and strategies.
  • Support the development and implementation of data collection systems to optimize data quality.
  • Produce meaningful timely reports and management information that adds value to the management of the business.
  • Maintain and generate automated databases containing HR related data and statistics and generate periodic reports.
  • Provide training, coaching and supporting users within HR and the wider business on the HR data & information management and HR systems.

2. General office support

  • Draft and/or process a variety of correspondence and other communications
  • Set up and maintains HR files/records (electronic and paper)
  • Schedule appointments and meetings
  • Perform a variety of other administrative duties (e.g. leave recording, HR payments processing, HR budget monitoring etc.).

Deliverables

This assignment is based on the full regular attendance during all working days. The incumbent will follow the agreed work plan. Managerial oversight is limited to ensuring results are fulfilled according to work plans and facilitating any issues that arise outside of established patterns.

Payment Schedule

Payment is made based on the attendance approved by the supervisor submitted by the consultant at the beginning of the month for the previous month.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Completion of university education in the related field, supplemented by technical or university courses directly related to the scope of work of this post (eg, IM management, HR Analytics, and/or HR systems).
  • A minimum of [6 years] of relevant professional experience in the areas of HR data, information and system management and reporting, or similar work experience in other areas is required. Some administrative work experience is preferred.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of HR systems is essential.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language of the duty station is an asset.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
