You have:
- Degree in Law, Social Science or other related subjects.
- Master’s degree in human rights-related issues.
- At least 5 years of experience in human rights at the national level.
- At least 2 years of experience on issues relating to the rights of Indigenous Peoples, People of African descent, including Quilombola Communities, and other traditional communities, including with gender sensitive approaches is required.
- Fluency in Portuguese is required.
- Experience working at the UN System is an asset.
- Brazilian nationality or permanent residency in Brazil is required.

Result of Service
Indigenous Peoples, including those in initial contact and voluntary isolation, People of African Descent, including quilombolas, and other traditional communities are effectively protected and participating in public affairs.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in meetings on the protection of Indigenous Peoples and People of African descent, including quilombolas, and other traditional communities promoted by national and local stakeholders. 2. Participate in the meetings promoted by the Office of Public Defender, the National Indigenous Foundation (FUNAI) and the Ministry of Indigenous Peoples on the protection of Indigenous Peoples, with emphasis on those in initial contact and voluntary isolation. 3. Carry out meetings with Government officials, civil society organizations, Indigenous Peoples, quilombolas, EHRDs, local community associations, the UN System in Brazil, in the context of the protection of indigenous peoples, quilombolas, and other human rights defenders belonging to traditional communities. 4. Coordinate with the Ministry of Indigenous Peoples, Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship and the National social movements (Indigenous Peoples, Quilombolas, and other Traditional Communities) for the elaboration of OHCHR contributions to the Protocol on the Collective Protection of Human Rights Defenders.
Qualifications/special skills
Degree in Law, Social Science or other related subjects. Master’s degree in human rights-related issues. At least 5 years of experience in human rights at the national level. At least 2 years of experience on issues relating to the rights of Indigenous Peoples, People of African descent, including Quilombola Communities, and other traditional communities, including with gender sensitive approaches is required. Experience working at the UN System is an asset.
Languages
Fluency in Portuguese is required.
