Overview

Provide monitoring and evaluation support to the Area programme.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field is required.
  • Experience (2 years) in the Monitoring & Evaluation field in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
  • Good knowledge of English.
  • Good use of Microsoft applications, especially Excel.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Training in project documentation, including project inputs, outputs, and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  1. Role and responsibilities

The purpose of the position is to provide day-to-day monitoring and evaluation support to the Area programme.

Generic responsibilities

  1. Ensure adherence to NRC policies, tools, operational handbooks, and guidelines.
  2. Implement delegated Core Competence project portfolio according to the plan of action.
  3. Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
  4. Ensure proper filing and management of project documents.
  5. Ensure that projects target the most in need population and explore and assess new and better ways of providing such assistance.
  6. Promote and share ideas for programming improvement.

Specific responsibilities

  1. Work closely with the Emergency Response, Cash & Markets, and teams to collect, collate, present, and otherwise manage information for MEAL-related reports.
  2. Support with developing weekly monitoring and evaluation plans for partner activities
  3. Conduct and support frequent surveys for monitoring and evaluation activities.
  4. Engage in the preparation of project evaluation and / or reviews and draft appropriate reports
  5. Responsible for the establishment and day-to-day management of a database and monitoring system.
  6. Give technical guidance and necessary training to program staff in project documentation, including project inputs, outputs, and outcomes (e.g., assessments, compiling beneficiary lists, recording construction progress, education activities, change in behavior and situation, etc.).
  7. Responsible for data analysis and compilation of quarterly, annual, and ad hoc program data and reports.
  8. Maintain and update the country programme MEAL database, ensuring correct and swift data entry and processing.
  9. Support in the development of MEAL tools as required.
  10. Support collection and maintenance of geographic baseline and thematic data.
  11. Research and retrieve data from internal and external sources; prepare the statistical charts, tables, and reports as required.
  12. Responsible for productions of maps & other geographic information/products in coordination with other stakeholders i.e., iMMAPs, OCHA, etc.
  13. Liaise with United Nations agencies and other humanitarian partners to ensure that the information needed to support humanitarian operations is generated and made easily available.
