Result of Service a) Planning, monitoring, and reporting: The primary responsibility of this position is to support to the planning, monitoring and reporting of the UNSDCF, including: - Provide support in the operation of Progamming, Monitoring and Evaluation (ProgME) Group - Assist in the development and monitoring of the joint work plans (JWP), results matrix, and other UNSDCF related documents and plans - Support the coordination of UN entities and inter-agency working groups for joint monitoring and reporting on the implementation of UNSDCF - Assist to collect, review, and update progress data and information to enable effective reporting on the UNSDCF - Help to document learning and good examples and practices in implementation of the UNSDCF

b) Partnership management and event facilitation - Support in maintenance of the partnerships with multiple stakeholders such as government agencies, embassies, civil society, think tanks, academia, etc. - Coordinate and collect the inputs and information in support the preparation of the speeches/talking points - Other tasks as assigned such as support the organization of meetings, seminars and other events

Duties and Responsibilities The UN Resident Coordinator leads the UN Country Team (UNCT) in China, including all the UN entities present in China. The purpose of the Resident Coordinator System (RCS) is to bring together different UN agencies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operational activities at the country level, helping the UN to be a more relevant and reliable partner for governments, notably by establishing and strengthening these partnerships for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The UN Resident Coordinator Office (RCO) supports the roles and functions of the UN Resident Coordinator and UNCT. The RCO provides inter-agency coordination support to the UNCT and its various inter-agency working mechanisms.

The UN in China is currently in implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2021-2025 for China. The RCO in China is looking for a motivated individual contractor to join the team on a full-time basis. Under overall guidance of the Head of RCO and the direct supervision of the Data Management and Results Monitoring/Reporting Specialist, the individual contractor will be responsible for providing support to the overall programming, monitoring and reporting efforts and other coordination function of the UN in China.

Qualifications/special skills Academic qualifications: At least master’s degree in international development studies, international relations, social sciences, political science, law, economies, management, or other relevant fields.

Work experience: 1) At least 2 years of previous professional experience in programme management, data analysis, or related field. 2) Must be able to write and present technical reports and undertake analyses for the benefit of target audience. 3) Must have good communication skills, be able to multi-task and thrive in a collaborative team environment. 4) Strong technical analytical and problem-solving skills.

Languages Fluency in spoken and written English and native Chinese speaker.
