PI section continued to leverage digital channels and advanced technology to appeal public audience supporting the world of children. Based on this background, the technical project manager is expected to engage in a variety of digital systems and digital projects’ management, coordination with internal and external stakeholders, basic technical support on regular digital activities running. We are now seeking a technical project manager to support our digital activities and online platform development project management to optimize user experience and PI operation efficiency.

Under the primary supervision of Partnerships Specialist, the UN Volunteers will undertake the following tasks: Project Management: • Assist in project planning, monitoring progress, and ensuring that the project stays within scope, budget, and timeline. • Proceed with the contract PO document and sign process. • Communicate with tech agencies, strictly master the project progress, coordinate resources to support project conduction, and make evaluations for the performance of tech agencies. • Identify and manage risks associated with the implementation of the information system. • Synergize with PI and tech agencies to regularly synchronize project progress Requirements Gathering and Analysis: • Work closely with various teams of PI to understand and document their business needs, goals, and requirements for the information system. • Analyse and model current business processes to identify areas for improvement and get PI teams’ confirmation. Communication and Stakeholder Management: • Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, proactive organizing multiple discussions to ensure effective communication and understanding between both groups. • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure that the system meets their needs. Quality Assurance and Testing: • Assess the delivered functions’ quality and provide feedback to tech agencies for function optimization. • Do the self-test on functions before delivering the production to the related PI team members. • Lead and monitor the PI team UAT test process. • Assist in the security-related test to ensure the system is compliant for launch. Furthermore, UNVs are encouraged to: • Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and taking an active part in UNV activities (for instance, IVD celebration events); • Get acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country; • Reflect on the type and quality of voluntary action that they are undertaking; • Contribute news and articles on field experiences and submit them to UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.; • Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly arrived UNV volunteers; • Promote online volunteering and encourage individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering Service whenever technically feasible.

The duty station of the national UN Volunteer is located in Beijing city, where modest public infrastructure and health services are available. It is the foremost political and cultural metropolis in China. The city has excellent health services available. In general, rent for apartments in central locations is high relative to other regions in China, but quality is good. Beijing is well served by many shopping malls, large supermarket chains and international brands. Buses and subways are the most common form of mass transportation. Metered taxis are widely available and domestic and regional travel by train and airplane is popular.
