The UNFPA GCC is planning to hire a UNV monitoring and evaluation assistant to monitor and evaluate the programmes of the office and formulate evidence-based recommendations to improve the strategic direction of the office. The UNV Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant will play a critical role in ensuring the effective monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of UNFPA programmes, contributing to the achievement of their goals and objectives.

Under the direct supervision of UNFPA GCC Assistant Representative, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

1) Assist in developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation plans for assigned UNFPA programmes, ensuring alignment with project objectives and outcomes.

2) Assist in UNFPA corporate M&E planning, monitoring and reporting.

3) Collaborate with the programme teams to establish performance targets and ensure the timely collection of data from relevant stakeholders.

4) Communicate with the programme teams to develop programme summary reports that include M&E component.

5) Analyze collected data to assess progress, identify trends, and make recommendations for program improvements.

6) Support capacity-building initiatives for programme staff on monitoring, evaluation, and data collection methodologies.

7) Assist in monitoring and evaluating IP-managed programmes.

8) Participate in project review meetings and other relevant events to share monitoring and evaluation findings and lessons learned.

9) Contribute to knowledge management efforts by documenting best practices, case studies, and lessons learned from M&E of the GCC office programmes.

10) Support the M&E and programme staff in designing and implementing the new monitoring and evaluation framework and information systems.

(minimum three months) designing M&E systems and conducting evaluations.

  • Using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).

  • Quantitative and qualitative methodologies, research, information systems, reporting, data quality assessments and data analysis.

  • Producing quality M&E reports.

  • Ability to process and analyse data using statistical software package.

  • Analytical skills and strategic thinking that allow for the development of data-driven reports.
