Your team You will be part the End User Services Section in the Infrastructure and Operations Services Division in the Directorate General Information Systems. The Section currently has 20 internal staff members who are responsible for the implementation, development, operation and support of the end user services used across the ECB and the ESCB. These include end user computing, hybrid working, collaboration and communications solutions that tailor Microsoft and other technologies to a wide spectrum of users.

In your role of Microsoft 365 Solution Architect, you will be part of the M365 team and contribute to the design and support the development of collaboration apps and services based on Microsoft 365 and Power Platform, with the aim of efficiently managing and enhancing the Section’s portfolio of services and ensuring that the appropriate technologies, processes and sourcing are in place for the benefit of end users, both within and outside the ECB.

You will work closely with colleagues, Team Leads and the Head of Section, as well as with other stakeholders across the ECB and the ESCB and with service providers.

Your role As a Microsoft 365 Solution Architect, you will:

- participate in the development and maintenance of the portfolio of Microsoft 365 and Power Platform-based collaboration apps available to the ECB and the European System of Central Banks; - contribute to activities, services and projects in close collaboration with other members of the Section and with other areas within the Directorate General and the ECB; - build links with other experts and expand the operational expertise of the Directorate General and service providers; - develop vendor relations and monitor services provided by service providers; - support the Section/Division’s planning by identifying particular trends and opportunities; - contribute to the promotion of the Section’s services to the European System of Central Banks.

Qualifications, experience and skills Essential:

- a master’s degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, business administration or another relevant field (see How you can join us for details on degree equivalences); - in addition to the above, a minimum of six years’ experience in working in an IT department or IT role, including two years in assessing, architecting, planning and designing solutions based on Microsoft 365 and Power Platform, and all related core technologies, as well as preparing technical documentation for the implementation of those solutions; - experience with MS technologies and tools (e.g. the ecosystems for Microsoft 365 – Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Intune, Entra ID, etc. – and for Power Platform), collaboration and communications platforms and services, cloud technologies, and their security, governance and compliance; - experience in deploying infrastructure using the Terraform tool and in designing, supporting and troubleshooting the Microsoft 365 and Power Platform ecosystems; - proven experience in managing identity, security and compliance issues related to the Microsoft 365 and Power Platform ecosystems; - experience in the implementation, maintenance and operation of critical and secure IT solutions; - an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Desired:

- experience in IT project management from conception to completion in support of business goals; - experience in services coordination; - knowledge of issues related to the deployment of cloud-based solutions supporting business applications (e.g. IT security, data protection); - experience in sourcing, contract negotiation and procurement, as well as in engaging and working with managed service providers.

Further information Temporary appointments may be extended or made permanent subject to organisational needs and budgetary constraints. This may result in a staff member with a non-convertible fixed-term contract being offered a convertible contract in accordance with the ECB Conditions of Employment.

The contract offered will be fixed-term, the appointment being for 1 year as of the exact starting date of the selected person.
