Your team You will be part of Infrastructure and Operations Services Division in the Directorate General Information Systems. Our Division has 60 staff providing IT infrastructure and end-user services for the whole of the ECB. We are currently working on modernising IT services management disciplines in support of the ECB’s digitalisation journey, which includes migrating IT infrastructure services to the cloud, establishing DevOps practices and modernising the technology stack.

In your role as an IT Infrastructure Specialist, you will be part of the Governance Processes and Tools team, which comprises eight members of staff responsible for ensuring the resilience of IT infrastructure and business services by managing the relevant Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)-based disciplines (such as configuration management, change management, availability management and IT service continuity management) and their implementation in tools (such as IT Service Management tool, Tableau suite) by monitoring their performance through agreed key performance indicators (KPIs) and modernising our technology stack. You will work closely with managed service providers for IT infrastructure and business services.

Your role As an IT Infrastructure Specialist, you will:

- contribute to the daily execution of IT service management processes, especially in the disciplines of configuration management, change management, availability management and IT service continuity management, either directly or by overseeing managed service providers’ quality of service; - contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation of IT service management disciplines, through process design, development, implementation and testing in the respective tools; - analyse stakeholders’ needs and data and effectively design, develop, implement and test reports or dashboards for monitoring and troubleshooting using enterprise reporting tools; - maintain existing reports and dashboards and propose and implement enhancements to increase their use and usability; - contribute to developing material for end-user training in support of IT service management; - organise and conduct training events; - contribute to tasks as part of a team, sharing your findings and ideas and, occasionally, presenting your team’s work to the relevant stakeholders; - We are seeking candidates for this role who demonstrate the potential for growth, and we will support the selected candidate(s) in their future development of the required knowledge, skills or competencies.

Qualifications, experience and skills Essential:

- a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, another STEM (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) subject, business administration or another relevant field (see How you can join us for details on degree equivalences); - in addition to the above, a minimum of 18 months’ experience in the field of IT services design/innovation, IT engineering or IT operations; - advanced experience in analysis/reporting, making use of enterprise reporting tools (e.g. Tableau suite); - knowledge of IT infrastructure and end-user services; - knowledge of cloud technologies and DevOps methodologies; - experience in interacting with a broad range of stakeholders; - drafting skills and the ability to present complex matters simply and clearly; - an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Desired:

- professional experience with issue tracking and test execution tools; - professional experience with cloud technologies; - professional experience with DevOps methodologies; - understanding of modern IT architectures.

Further information Temporary appointments may be extended or made permanent subject to organisational needs and budgetary constraints. This may result in a staff member with a non-convertible fixed-term contract being offered a convertible contract in accordance with the ECB Conditions of Employment.

The contract offered will be fixed-term, the appointment being for one year as of the exact starting date of the selected person.
