You have:

DRC Uganda is currently looking for a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our dynamic team as MEAL Team Leader.
The overall purpose of the role:
The MEAL Team Leader will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) systems across all projects in the field offices, ensuring high-quality data, effective accountability mechanisms, and timely evidence to support program performance and decision-making. He/she will provide technical guidance and supervision to MEAL staff and partners, ensuring compliance with organizational and donor standards.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
MEAL System Implementation & Quality Assurance
Support the rollout and contextualization of organizational MEAL frameworks, tools, and guidelines across all projects in the field offices.
Ensure consistent application of indicators, tools, and reporting templates across projects and partners.
Review and provide technical feedback on data collection tools before deployment.
Ensure adherence to MEAL SOPs and minimum standards at field level.
Flag gaps in MEAL systems and provide recommendations to the MEAL Manager for improvement.
Monitoring & Data Management
Coordinate and oversee routine monitoring activities (Post Distribution Monitoring, field visits, spot checks) across projects.
Supervise MEAL staff to ensure timely and accurate data collection and submission.
Conduct data cleaning, validation, and basic analysis to support reporting and decision-making.
Maintain area-level databases and tracking tools (Excel, Kobo, Power BI where applicable).
Conduct routine data quality checks and DQAs and follow up on corrective actions with teams.
Assessments, Evaluation & Learning Support
Support the implementation of baseline, midline, and endline assessments in coordination with the MEAL Manager.
Assist in planning logistics, training enumerators, and supervising data collection.
Contribute to preliminary data analysis and draft findings.
Facilitate area-level reflection and learning sessions with program and partner teams.
Document key lessons learned and field insights for reporting and program improvement.
Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP)
Oversee the day-to-day management of Feedback and Complaints Mechanisms (FCMs) across all sites in the field offices.
Ensure feedback is properly recorded, tracked, and responded to within agreed timelines.
Monitor functionality of CFM channels and escalate sensitive or critical issues appropriately.
Support community engagement activities to ensure beneficiary voices inform programming.
Compile and share regular feedback analysis summaries with program teams.
Partner Support & Coordination
Provide day-to-day technical support to partner MEAL staff on tools, data collection, and reporting.
Review partner data and reports for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
Support partners to comply with donor and organizational MEAL requirements.
Coordinate joint monitoring activities and assessments with partners.
Identify partner capacity gaps and escalate to the MEAL Manager for structured capacity-building plans.
Reporting & Documentation
Compile and validate area-level data inputs for donor reports (monthly, quarterly, annually).
Ensure proper filing and documentation of MEAL tools, datasets, and reports at area office level.
Support preparation for audits, donor visits, and evaluations.
Develop simple dashboards or summaries to support area-level decision-making.
Coordination & Representation
Represent the organization in area-level MEAL/Information Management coordination forums.
Coordinate closely with program teams, operations, and partners to ensure MEAL integration in implementation.
Share relevant updates, challenges, and risks with the Area Manager & MEAL Manager in a timely manner.
Team Supervision
Line-manage area-based MEAL staff, including task allocation, supervision, and performance monitoring.
Support onboarding and on-the-job coaching of MEAL staff and enumerators.
Ensure efficient planning and deployment of MEAL resources across multiple projects.
Promote adherence to data quality, accountability, and ethical standards sswithin the team.
Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
