You have:
- University degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Instructional Design, Social Sciences, Learning and Development, or related field.
- 3+ years’ experience in designing and/or delivering learning initiatives.
- Experience in developing and implementing blended-learning initiatives.
- Track record of content curation, sourcing and research strategies.
- Experience in building/authoring online learning resources is ideal.
- Experience working with subject experts to translate content into learning experiences.
- Experience working with learning platforms/learning management systems/content authoring tools preferred (eg Articulate Storyline/Rise, animation tools).
- International work experience, and experience in multi-cultural teams and organizations.
- Fluency in oral and written English is essential. Good working knowledge of a second UN language preferably French, Spanish, Arabic, or Portuguese is desirable.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. The mission of WFP is to help the world achieve Zero Hunger in our lifetimes. Every day, WFP works worldwide to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry and that the poorest and most vulnerable, particularly women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.
To support in this mission, WFP is seeking an individual to support the Capability Development team, located within the HQ Human Resources Division. The work of this team strongly influences WFP’s approach to people management, and in turn, plays a key role WFP’s overall effectiveness. The individual will be collaborating with a dynamic team which works on a variety of initiatives including capability development, performance management, WFP’s internal promotion exercise, and staff engagement. The individual will report to the Head of the Leadership Framework initiative. They are expected to work remotely and potentially attend in-person meetings in WFP HQ in Rome, when/if required.
For this role, the individual will manage the curation and creation of learning resources included in WFPs central hub for learning (WeLearn). WeLearn is a platform used to build and host blended learning solutions and individual learning resources. With the changing landscape presented by COVID and the need to be more agile, the ability to access learning materials on demand is a necessity. Learning resource curation (and creation when relevant) and content production (eg: pathway design) will address this challenge.
The incumbent is expected to work remotely and potentially coordinate and attend in-person meetings in WFP HQ in Rome, when/if required by the specific project.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Learning Content Specialist will be responsible for researching and sourcing available internal and external learning resources, tools, templates, and guides that can customized for WFP context where possible. These items will then be used in the design and development of learning paths. The priority initiatives that require this work include:
- WFP Leadership Framework - requires the design of multiple channels and the curation of learning resources to support developing the various competency areas defined in the framework.
- Leadership Development – current learning channel and pages require rework to update current resources and incorporate additional resources for new leadership development initiatives
- Upward Feedback and 360 Feedback – requires resources to support supervisors to understand, appreciate and action feedback received from their direct reports
- Contribute to the design and development of communication toolkits to socialize the above initiatives throughout the organization.
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:
- Engage with relevant stakeholders and translate needs into products (eg: learning channels)
- Design, create, and curate learning resources, learning pathways and dedicated content channels for HRCM initiatives
- Create activation and communication plans for selected HRCM initiatives
- Stay up to date with current learning methodologies and technical developments
- Provide an advisory service to relevant stakeholders
- Ensure provision of solution is user friendly and relevant for WFP audience
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education:
University degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Instructional Design, Social Sciences, Learning and Development, or related field
Experience:
3+ years’ experience in designing and/or delivering learning initiatives
Experience in developing and implementing blended-learning initiatives
Track record of content curation, sourcing and research strategies

Experience working with subject experts to translate content into learning experiences

Knowledge & Skills:
Demonstrated knowledge and application of best practices in the fields of learning and organizational development
Knowledge of good sources for content curation – especially freely available, low- cost solutions
Knowledge of current leadership development trends and theories
Excellent project management and communication skills
Ability to work with people from different backgrounds and cultures
Confidence and mental agility to assimilate different perspectives and formulate recommendations
Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English is essential. Good working knowledge of a second UN language preferably French, Spanish, Arabic, or Portuguese is desirable
