UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.

Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

For every child, education.

UNICEF works in 190 countries and territories to protect the rights of every child. UNICEF has spent 70 years working to improve the lives of children and their families.

Defending children's rights throughout their lives requires a global presence to produce results and understand their effects. UNICEF believes all children have a right to survive, thrive, and fulfil their potential to benefit a better world.

How can you make a difference?

UNICEF offers the opportunity for talented students to gain professional experience while being exposed to UNICEF's work. At the same time, UNICEF benefits from interns as a significant asset by providing updated academic knowledge, technical know-how and other valuable skills to the organization.

Knowledge management (KM) has taken greater prominence in UNICEF with the recent endorsement of the Global Knowledge Management Medium-Term Strategy (2021-2022). KM, defined as the 'management of generation, sharing, and use of knowledge for better performance and results', is connected to all areas of UNICEF's work and instrumental to identifying and scaling up good practices and results. Knowledge is one of UNICEF's greatest assets in delivering results for children. With an expansive field presence in over 150 countries, UNICEF has unparalleled evidence and knowledge base on children's issues, especially the most vulnerable and disadvantaged. Harnessing these assets towards effective programming and policy advocacy is critical to accelerating results and achieving our aims as the trusted global knowledge leader for children. Several countries, including Turkey, are working towards operationalizing the global KM vision of putting knowledge to achieve children's results and fulfil their rights.

The intern in the Education section will provide specific support to the enhancements of Education KM architecture and the improved information and knowledge base available to UNICEF's Turkey Country Office and education teams regionally and globally through the development of various knowledge products. These knowledge products will contribute to implementing the global UNICEF Education Strategy 2019-2030, but more specifically support resource mobilization and implementation of priorities in Turkey's new country programme strategy 2021-2025.
