Overview

Provide professional interpretation services in English and French during meetings.

You have:

  • Postgraduate degree/diploma in interpreting techniques, English, French or relevant education.
  • Five years of experience in interpreting English-French-English in international environmental meetings is required.
  • Fluency in English and French (oral & reading) is required.
  • Membership of AIIC is an asset.

Result of Service Interpretation services professionally and appropriately provided during the meetings in two languages (English and French).

Duties and Responsibilities The Coordinating Unit for the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS) Memorandum of Understanding on the Conservation of Migratory Birds of Prey in Africa and Eurasia (Raptors MoU) is seeking interpreters to serve

- a 4-hour online workshop to be held on 3 April 2023 (3 interpreters) - the Third Meeting of Signatories (MOS3) to the Raptors MoU, 3-5 July 2023 in Dubai, UAE. (4 interpreters)

The meetings will be held in two languages (English and French).

Specific Tasks: 1) Providing simultaneous interpretation from and to English and French; 2) Familiarizing themselves with the topic to be discussed via meetings documents which are available online or made available by the Coordinating Unit of the Raptors MOU.

Qualifications/special skills Postgraduate degree/diploma in interpreting techniques, English, French or relevant education Five years of experience in interpreting English-French-English in international environmental meetings is required. Membership of AIIC is an asset.

Languages Fluency in English and French (oral & reading) is required.
