How can you make a difference?

Purpose of the internship:

The Emergency Cone/Human Resources Business Partner of the Division of Human Resources provides continuous recruitment & selection support to designated country offices in emergencies, provides sourcing services to clients, business partnering and support to the Emergency Office for Programme Support (EMOPS) Division, the Polio Division and leads the Surge desk for humanitarian missions across UNICEF.

The Emergency Cone embarked on a project that will eventually improve workforce mapping and sourcing in humanitarian contexts.

Under the daily supervision of the HR Business Partner for Emergencies and the HR Sourcing Lead, the intern is expected to:

  • Support the development and implementation of the Emergencies Cone’s outreach and sourcing strategy in line with organizational objectives.
  • Ensure that all portals (Intranet, websites, SharePoint Drives, etc.) are updated with latest reports and content.
  • Research propose and design infographics and communication material to capture interest and convey information simply and easily.
  • Support on maintaining, deploying and updating HR Reports, Dashboards and data-driven analysis.
  • Contribute to the preparation, development and execution of marketing and branding campaigns and sourcing events.
  • Provide additional sourcing support for key positions by leveraging effective channels and partnerships including platforms such as LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, professional networks and associations, social media, etc.
  • Provide support to recruitments by creating compelling vacancy announcements in our Talent Management system for efficient targeting and screening of applicants and assisting with shortlisting of profiles
  • Support the logistics and planning of HR Capacity Building events – such as webinars and network meetings for the Global HR in Emergencies Community
  • Perform other duties as required.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or Ph.D. degree programme, or have graduated within the past two years.
  • A first-level university degree in communications and/or related fields.
  • Be passionate about working for children, and vulnerable communities.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish)
  • Knowledge of relevant computer systems and applications; solid knowledge in graphic design tools (e.g. Canva, etc.) is an asset. Excellent knowledge of MS Office is required.
  • Knowledge and experience in the field of sourcing, talent acquisition, outreach, recruitment marketing, Boolean seach, digital marketing strategies and/or people analytics is an asset.

Due to current COVID19 restrictions (which are subject to change), the intern will initially work from home, working collaboratively with the HR Emergencies team through online platforms.
