Duties and Responsibilities

BACKGROUND The consulting position is located in the Planning and Performance Team of the Strategic Planning, Performance and Governance Section (SPPG) in the Office of the Executive Director (OED) at ITC Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. The PPT is responsible for ITC’s corporate results-based-management (RBM) system. This includes ITC’s corporate strategic and operational planning, monitoring, reporting, and risk management; building and improving tools and processes that facilitate RBM at all levels in ITC; supporting senior management with data and analysis; assisting projects and programmes in development, planning and reporting, risk management; and providing information to ITC’s governance and oversight bodies. The focus of this consultancy assignment is to contribute to development and automation of specific corporate planning and reporting models, with the objective to provide actionable management information, and in support of ITC’s accountability and transparency reporting obligations. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES The consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Programme Officer, Planning and Performance, and the overall guidance of Senior Programme Officer, Planning and Performance team, OED/SPPG. S/he will carry out the following duties: Planning and Reporting Support • Maintain and update Excel planning and reporting models for regular analysis of various types of quantitative and qualitative data • Produce on-demand analytical reports with key business data and document the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) • Create visualizations based on business analyses of the planning and reporting models • Prepare briefing materials on quantitative and qualitative analyses (Word, PowerPoint). Tools Development and Maintenance • Support the creation and maintenance of excel-based planning and reporting models, integrating different data sources . • Develop excel models with required specifications, including through formula automation, macros etc. that support the integration of various data-sets. • Design semi- or fully automated management dashboards with required specifications, including by using business intelligence platform Power BI. Copyright Clause: The Consultant has to ensure that s/he has obtained the necessary permissions with regard to intellectual property rights required to perform his/her services under this consultancy contract and for the subsequent dissemination by ITC in any form. Documentary proof is to be submitted to ITC. Should any license fee be due for the use of copyrighted materials of third parties, the Consultant shall request prior written permission from ITC. S/he has further to ensure to obtain accreditation to event(s), if required. Qualifications/special skills

A first-level university degree in data science, accounting, finance, business administration, management, or a related field. Master’s degree is an advantage. Recognized certifications and/or specialized qualifications in quantitative analysis methods and tools are desirable. Extensive relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree. A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in business analysis, quantitative analysis or a closely related area. Work experience in an analytical role in finance, controlling departments or in a consulting company is a plus. Skills: Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills are required for this consultancy, with a mandatory proficiency in Excel and highly desirable Power BI skills. Excel proficiency is required in relation to advanced use of: excel formulas, pivot tables and charts, data modelling, consolidation and advanced formatting. Power-pivoting and VBA knowledge are desirable. Good analytical acumen and communication skills are a requirement, as well as the ability to visualise, synthetise and present the quantitative models to different audiences, in writing or verbally.

Languages

Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
