Result of Service As an active TDT/HRMS team member, efficient, timely, responsive, client-friendly and high-quality support rendered to UNOV/UNODC and its beneficiaries in the accomplishment of her/his functions.

Work Location Vienna Headquarters/Home-based

Expected duration The contractor will perform the assigned functions under the overall guidance of the Team Leader, Talent Development Team (TDT), Human Resources Management Service (HRMS), and will be based in Vienna. The contractor will be requested to work 60 days over the period from 10 August – 2 December 2022

A monthly remuneration will be paid, determined by HRMS on the basis of the level of the functions to be performed and the level of qualifications of the contractor.

Payments will be made upon satisfactory completion and/or submission of tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Team Lead, Talent Development Team (TDT) or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the Individual Contractor (Human Resources Management) will:

  • Work closely with the Team Lead, Talent Development Team (TDT), on implementing UN Secretariat organizational initiatives in UNOV/UNODC, such as the United Nations Language Framework and New Performance Management Approach;
  • Assist with the administration of the Language Programme as well as with the transition to the new Language Framework, and provide financial support concerning expenses, revenues and payments. Analyse enrolment information and prepare statistical data and reports.
  • Draft various communication with key stakeholders such as project proposals, status reports, emails and speaking notes;
  • Prepare written outputs, such as briefing notes, concept notes, agendas, project proposals and progress reports;
  • Prepare reports and compilations of relevant statistics for internal use such as audits, annual reports, capacity assessments, etc.
  • Analyze learning needs related to programmatic work of UNOV and UNODC divisions, particularly related to future client needs, challenges and trends; and contributing to the development of appropriate and relevant learning solutions;
  • Liaise with and supporting other training and learning external partners on the design and evaluation of learning activities;
  • Assist in the design and development of training content for learning activities, analyzing relevant policies and guidelines and creating presentations, guides and job aids;
  • Co-facilitate workshops and contributing to outreach and marketing activities;
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: High School Diploma is required Experience: - A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in an administrative setting is required.

  • Experience in fundamental planning and organizational administrative skills are required
  • Previous experience in human resources management, in developing and delivering training activities, as well as analyzing learning needs is required.
  • Experience working for international organizations is desirable. Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
