The Information Technology Department (ITD) provides high quality, value for money Information Technology services and leadership in the application technology towards the mission of the Fund. Our priorities are to ensure that critical IT systems, operations, and infrastructure perform at target levels; strengthen security of IT systems and information assets; maintain close alignment of IT initiatives with business priorities; deliver services at a high value-for-money while also maintaining high satisfaction with service delivery; and ensure that capital projects deliver intended business outcomes.

ITD delivers world class IT solutions and services, lead day-to-day technology operations, and provide ongoing support to ensure the satisfaction of our business partners across the Fund. We build and run IT solutions, platforms, and infrastructure in an agile and secure manner and is closely aligned to industry best practices. As we scale up our work in service to Fund staff and our membership, we are seeking experienced professionals to join our team with the skills and expertise needed to meet current and emerging needs.

We are inviting applications from qualified IT professionals interested in joining one of the following areas:

Application Services manages the operation, maintenance, versioning, development, and upgrading of IMF applications through the lifecycle. Evaluates market best practices, techniques and procedures essential for deployed application’s optimal performance and efficiency. Business analysis (BA), application design, secure code development and integration, delivery, maintenance and support functions.

IT Project Management provides project management leadership for both the technical and business process workstreams. Adheres to PMI best practices for project management, such as leading the development of the business case, CBA, project charter, scope, PMP, integrated project plan and other project management documents. Policies and standards for in‐house programs and projects, cross‐functional project management support and coordination, and business process support functions.

Information Security establishes Fund‐wide information security policies, standards, procedures, guidelines and is responsible for interpretation, governance and oversight. Prioritizes Fund security investments. Establishes and executes Fund‐wide information security training and awareness. Manages the physical and electronic protection of data, access control, intrusion detection, virus protection, certification, audit, incident response, security engineering, development and implementation of security policies and procedures.

Data and Economics’ mission is to empower Fund users with cutting-edge AI, ML, data, and economic modeling tools by leveraging best practices in the data lifecycle engineering. Through continuous innovation and collaboration, we strive to deliver high-quality, reliable and actionable insights that drive informed decision-making.

Scientific Computing & Computational Economics uses advanced computing capabilities to represent and solve complex problems from all fields in economics and finance. Leverages advanced computational methods and algorithms, statistics, machine learning, advanced analytics, along with hardware, software and advanced distributed and parallel computing architectures in order to provide efficient, secure computational solutions and to detect and analyze patterns in enterprise datasets.

IT Strategy & Architecture ensures alignment and standardization of business value chains with IT capabilities, research and evaluation of emerging technologies, strategic technology planning, consulting, software validation. Promotes alignment and standardization to provide a unified IT environment. Responsible for the definition of governance and policy creation on all aspect of Information (records management and archival) activities of the Fund.

IT Infrastructure is the design, development, and support of technology infrastructure (including networks), hardware, software and office systems, systems performance management and technology integration functions. Includes overseeing facilities and service components that support the development, testing, monitoring, control, and delivery of secure compliant infrastructure for the IMF.

We are seeking experienced IT Professionals who have:

• An advanced university degree plus a minimum of four (4) years of relevant professional experience or a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or IT related field, plus a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant professional experience.

• Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as planning and organizational skills.

• Relevant professional experience in a similar capacity in a comparable international organization is desirable.

• A track record of working well in a collegial team environment, and strong ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels and of different cultural backgrounds and with other international organizations and stakeholders.

How Are Applicants Selected?

We will conduct an initial screening based on your application and supporting documentation. If you are successful in meeting our initial criteria, you will receive an invitation to participate in a video interview. If selected following your HireVue interview, you will receive an invitation for a preliminary interview in one of the countries being used as a regional hub. The IMF will cover the travel, hotel and per diem costs for all shortlisted candidates invited for interview in the relevant hubs. Successful candidates will then be invited to participate in final assessments comprising of a panel interview and/or a technical assessment.
