You have:

  • Experience working with mangroves in tropical countries, ideally Papua New Guinea or the Pacific

MDF have completed mapping a mangrove site in Papua New Guinea and needs addition support form online volunteers who can be able to identify the species of Mangroves using description and photographs and other techniques

The assignment is inline with MDFs current project and objective to address environment degradation and climate change.

MDF requires the service of three loyal and professional volunteers who have knowledge and background in identifying mangrove species to support a project undertaken by MDF in Papua New Guinea, specifically Barakau Village just outside the capital city of Port Moresby.

The volunteers in collaboration with the contact person for MDF will be using close up photographs, local description of the species to identify both the local species of mangroves and other tree species found grown amongst the local species of mangroves.

MDF require the skills of three botanist who have experience working with mangroves identifying species in a tropical country, notably Papua New Guinea or the Pacific. Must have a Degree in Forestry PHD students are encourage to apply
