Under the general supervision of Deputy Division Chief, HCM Cloud Support & Reporting Team, the Human Resources Officer (Workday) is responsible for analyzing business processes, understanding user needs and configuring Workday to meet these requirements. They must be able to act as subject-matter-expert on Workday and support the business through the entire lifecycle from requirement gathering to deployment to production. They will need to work in close collaboration with different stakeholders, including HR, Finance and IT teams, among others. This role is critical in ensuring the successful implementation and continuous improvement of Workday solutions within the organization. This position requires experience in Workday HCM, Talent and Performance, Recruitment, and Learning, especially in the areas of Workday reporting and business process configuration. Experience in Adaptive Insights is highly desirable.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements for enhancements to the Workday platform or new features/modules.
  • Configure Workday to align with business needs and requirements, including designing business processes, custom reports and dashboards, among others.
  • Utilize different Workday reporting tools, including BIRTs, embedded analytics, Worksheets, and other design options to create and enhance custom reports, dashboards and analytics.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Workday.
  • Coordinate and support technical testing for Workday reports and other business processes. Maintain testing documentation. Facilitates user acceptance testing, coordinating and communicating with business teams and validating results.
  • Participates in Workday semi-annual upgrade testing and application releases, conducting testing and liaising with business stakeholders to ensure a smooth upgrade.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve existing reports for accuracy, relevance, and efficiency. Act as gatekeeper for reports deployed in production, advising other report writers and business users on standards and leading practices in Workday reporting.
  • Follows and enforces established procedures for addressing incidents, service requests and enhancements, ensuring full compliance with IT change management processes.
  • Stay current with Workday updates and new features and proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and optimization.
  • Utilize Workday Community to research and network with other users to brainstorm system solutions. Participate in relevant design and user groups.
  • Assists in creating roadmaps for new Workday features. Act as a change agent, helping to build adoption across the organization.
  • Establish guidelines and procedures to support internal processes. Develop report specifications, standards, frameworks across all Functional areas to ensure report optimization, security model alignment, and Workday best practices are implemented.
  • Supports training in Workday, accurately and effectively distilling complex technological concepts to promote user adoption and understanding.
  • Mentor and counsel other members in the team.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Educational development, typically acquired by the completion of an advanced university degree, or equivalent, in Human Resources or a related field; or a university degree, or equivalent, supplemented by a minimum of six years of relevant professional experience; or a minimum of two years of relevant experience at grade A8, or equivalent, is required. The ideal candidate would have at least three years of experience supporting Workday HCM in the following areas: Core HCM, Core Comp, Talent, Learning, and Recruiting, Position Management, including business process configuration and reports and dashboards.

Specialized Skills/ Knowledge

  • Workday expert with deep knowledge of Advanced Report Writing, Calculated fields, EIBs, Security and Business Process Configuration as well as functional knowledge of Human Capital Management, Jobs and Positions, Organizations, Recruiting, Talent, Learning and Compensation.
  • Workday training is required. Workday Report Pro certifications are highly desirable.
  • Strong project management capabilities with demonstrated success managing projects.
  • Track record of being the go-to person for designing functional and technical solutions.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationship, influence and collaborate with stakeholders.

This vacancy shall be filled by a 3-year Term appointment in accordance with the Fund’s new employment rules that took effect on May 1, 2015.

A regular staff member who is selected to fill the vacancy will maintain their open-ended status. If the selected candidate is a contractual employee, they will be offered a Term staff appointment. Staff members already on a term appointment will continue their current term but may receive an extension provided that their current term appointment has not already been extended.
