The Human Resources Officer leverages strong quantitative skills to analyze the Fund’s pension program and assist in the IT implementation of the pension reforms and other pension policy support. The Human Resources Officer’s primary role is to provide business user input and testing during the process of updating the Peoplesoft pension system to reflect a Board approved reform. Key activities include reviewing of design and providing business user feedback, perform tests on the updated system including resolving issues with ITD, and other pension policy tasks.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Learns and understands the pension plan to be able to thoroughly review and update the current pension calculation spreadsheets for additional user enhancements.
  • Learns and understands the pension plan to be able to thoroughly review and update ongoing participant communications for improved clarity and operational efficiency.
  • Assists HRD in developing a robust testing plan, including creating testcase scenarios.

  • Conducts User Acceptance Testing and works with ITD to report and resolve any bugs.

  • Assists programming and design by leveraging technical knowledge of both qualified and nonqualified aspects of the pension plan.

  • Leverages broad total rewards and actuarial knowledge in order to assist with pension activities, as needed.

  • Resolves escalated operational cases by understanding and applying plan rules and established past practice

  • Provides subject matter insight and support on policy questions, operational improvements, or other matters affecting the IMF’s retirement plans

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Able to apply a broad theoretical understanding of, and practical experiences in more than one HR area, e.g., staffing, training and development, and compensation and benefits.
  • In-depth knowledge and expertise in Total Rewards, enabling skilled operation of Fund HR practices, procedures, and programs.
  • Researches and analyzes HR technical issues and problems and develops solutions in a thorough, systematic manner. Leads the formulation of policy proposals and recommendations.
  • Identifies and diagnoses needs. Facilitates and implements interventions in order to address needs and drive change.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Degree, or equivalent, in Human Resources, or a related field OR Bachelor’s Degree plus six years of relevant work experience.

*This is a one-year contractual appointment. Contractual appointments at the IMF are renewable for up to four years of cumulative contractual service, pending incumbent's performance, budget availability, and continuous business need.
