DRC has been responding to various humanitarian crises in Lebanon since 2004, working with Palestinian, Iraqi and Syrian refugees. DRC received registration from the Ministry of Interior in 2011, and since then has focused primarily on responding to the Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon and the resulting impact on Lebanese host community. DRC Lebanon’s focus is to ensure that we are able to respond to critical emerging humanitarian needs whilst improve the living conditions of displacement-affected populations and contribute to the achievement of durable solutions. With an annual portfolio of $12million, and with approximately 200+ staff, DRC is focusing its response in protection and economic recovery (Ec-Rec) sector in Bekka, North Lebanon and Beirut. DRC is also contributing to the evidence base and coordination structures in country through our Evidence Generation and referral information management (RIMs) teams.

About the job

Responsible for performing general Human Resources and Administration functions, playing a key role in the overall HR functions including staff recruitment, request for contracts preparations, and staff leaves/attendance tracking.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

Human Resources

  • Assist in ensuring staff compliance with human resources polices, as per DRC’s Operations Handbook and local HR Handbook.
  • Monitor staff attendance and ensure that their leaves are submitted and filed on time. Ensure that leave, recruitment and training trackers, personel files are accurate and updated on a regular basis.
  • Assist in communicating with interview candidates and scheduling for tests and interviews.
  • Ensure new staff receive an appropriate orientation and induction and make sure the clearance and debriefing is carried out for exiting staff.

Administration

  • Ensure that all office systems and equipment (power, water, telephone, photocopier, fax, etc.) are in good working order.
  • Ensure payment of office and guest house bills are prepared and finalized in a timely manner.
  • Organize and book venue for external meetings, conferences, trainings and workshops including refreshment and stationery.
  • Ensure adequate office supplies is available
  • Responsible for necessary repairs & maintenance in a timely manner in coordination with the Logistics staff.

  • Manage all contract arrangements with lessors and ensuring that contractual obligations are adhered to.

  • Establish central mail recording system and filing system.
  • Ensure that DRC staff have Identification cards (ID) with the period of validity in accordance with the employment contract.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have a Diploma in HR Management, Business Administration or equivalent professional qualification. Moreover, we also expect the following:

Contract length: 6 months renewable based on performance and availability of funds
