You have:

  • A university degree in Communication Studies, Digital Media, ICT, Multimedia Design, Graphic Design, Educational Technology, or a related field is required.
  • Experience in e-learning content development, website content management, multimedia production, graphic design, and digital publishing is required.
  • Experience in supporting the operation of learning management systems (LMS), social media management, and digital outreach activities is desirable.
  • Experience working with an international organization is desirable.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English is required.

Result of Service

a. Provide technical assistance in the development and enhancement of e-learning content using appropriate delivery technologies, including interactive learning materials, videos, animations, and text-based resources. b. Assist in the operation and maintenance of the APCICT Virtual Academy, the Centre’s distance learning platform (https://e-learning.unapcict.org/), including but not limited to system maintenance, customization, localization, responding to user inquiries, and implementing enhancements, as required. c. Assist in the technical maintenance and operation of APCICT’s website (https://www.unapcict.org/), including troubleshooting, content updates, design improvements, and other enhancements, as required. d. Support the Centre’s outreach and promotional activities, including social media management, website content management, publication layout and design, and video production and editing for APCICT’s digital platforms. e. Perform other related duties and assignments as may be required by the Programme Officer and other supervisors. How are the outputs to be delivered? Outputs will be generated through electronic correspondence, virtual and in-person meetings, and submitted electronically. The Individual Contractor will be based at APCICT in Incheon and will be expected to deliver the outputs in accordance with the deliverables outlined above. Throughout the contract period, the Individual Contractor will be required to provide services on-site at the APCICT office on a full-time basis (minimum of eight working hours per day, excluding a one-hour lunch break). Payments will be made on a monthly basis according to the actual number of days worked, as reflected in the attendance records, and subject to satisfactory performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development (APCICT), a regional institute of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), was established on 16 June 2006 in Incheon, Republic of Korea, with a mandate to strengthen the human and institutional capacities of member States and associate members in the use of ICT for achieving socio-economic development goals. To fulfil its mandate, APCICT focuses on three interrelated pillars: Training, Advisory Services, and Multi-stakeholder Partnerships. To extend the reach of its training programmes, the Centre also maintains the APCICT Virtual Academy (https://e-learning.unapcict.org), an online distance learning platform that offers self-paced courses based on the Academy and WIFI modules. APCICT seeks to engage a Programme Assistant (Individual Contractor) to support its e-learning production, digital outreach, training, research, and knowledge-sharing activities. Under the direct supervision of the Programme Officer, the incumbent will undertake the following responsibilities: • Develop new e-learning course materials, upgrade existing courses, and enhance user interfaces in accordance with agreed course delivery technologies and instructional design practices; • Support the maintenance, customization, and enhancement of the Learning Management System (LMS) in coordination with the Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT); • Maintain, update, and enhance the content and functionality of APCICT's website (https://www.unapcict.org); • Assist in the development and production of multimedia learning materials, including videos, graphics, animations, and other digital content; • Support APCICT's outreach and promotional activities, including website content management, social media management, publication layout and design, and digital communications; • Provide technical and administrative support for APCICT's e-learning, research, and knowledge-sharing activities; and • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/special skills

A university degree in Communication Studies, Digital Media, ICT, Multimedia Design, Graphic Design, Educational Technology, or a related field is required. Experience in e-learning content development, website content management, multimedia production, graphic design, and digital publishing is required. Experience in supporting the operation of learning management systems (LMS), social media management, and digital outreach activities is desirable. Experience working with an international organization is desirable.

Languages
