Contract

This is a UNV contract. More about UNV contracts.

MDF is a leading community group in Papua New Guinea. Over the past 20 years, it has carried out many community development projects to help rural communities in Papua New Guinea. To continue MDF's mission, MDF requires support in grant searches where the grants will allow it to expand its partnership and community outreach activities (e.g., education programs, community-run nature-based solutions); and reach more potential donors.

To that end, we are currently seeking the support of three Online Volunteers with experience in graphic design, logo design, or drawing digital images. This collaboration intends to showcase MDF's ongoing works and outcomes through content designs in the form of posters or infographics that will be used as content for MDF's website, blog, and/or social media accounts.

This collaboration will help MDF in its communication and dissemination activity for donor outreach. Furthermore, the exposure as a result of this assignment will also support MDF in attracting donors and acquiring grants to continue the implementation of projects in areas of water, sanitation, and hygiene (where MDF has undertaken several projects in the past couple of years) and the takeaways from these globally focused endeavors would be streamlined to serve the needs of PNG communities. Further, this assignment is also in line with MDF's vision and objective to support campaigns on environment and conservation and to address climate change which is a bigger issue faced by the world.

MDF is seeking the support of three (3) Online Volunteers - with expertise in graphic design/art to support the Organization in creating its communication materials, specifically for future collaboration and donor outreach.

The Online Volunteers are expected to work under the supervision of subject experts by carrying out the following tasks: 1. Create content following the suggestions and design recommendations of team members; 2. Make meaningful design suggestions that improve the overall product (e.g.: poster or infographic); 3. Create clean-cut and original designs for the organization on the website, blog, and social media; 4. Specifically, it is required that each volunteer will create at least 3 graphic designs during this assignment.

At the end of the assignment, a certificate of appreciation will be issued from UNV.

The ideal candidate should have: - A degree in graphic design, video production, photography, or visual arts; - 3 years of experience as a graphic designer/ graphic artist; - Knowledge and experience of working with Photoshop; - Demonstrated skills in graphic design and experience drawing digitally (samples of work should be available upon request during the selection period); - Knowledge and interest in environmental, climate, and conservation-related issues.

The volunteers should be able to: - Edit existing documents and beautify them; - Create images for the website and social media; - Design infographics and posters.

To enable effective and successful collaboration, online volunteers must communicate well and be attentive, responsive, and proactive.

While filling out your application, under the “motivation” section, please elaborate on your graphic design experience.
