We are looking for Online Volunteers who, under the guidance of a Communications analyst and in close collaboration with other communications team members will support us in producing a social media content plan for Instagram, Twitter, and UNDP’s website.

The Online Volunteers will contribute to the country office's approaches to the portfolio by creating scheduled infographics, videos, and other social media and web content to align our existing knowledge products. Through this assignment, the Online Volunteer will contribute their design ability and gain more knowledge on the communication practice in the development work. The Online Volunteers will also have the opportunity to provide feedback on the advocacy messages we are working on.

In particular, for each week, each Online Volunteers will be assigned to:

  • Draft a key visual for different international days related to UNDP Indonesia key campaigns
  • Propose up-to-date communications products based on the latest trends (in Twitter and Instagram)
  • Create a draft design based on requirements and discuss it with the focal point/ communications team for the content and the type of communications products
  • Develop the design according to the agreed requirements
  • Draft a catchy caption communicating UNDP Indonesia’s expertise, based on consultation with the communications team
  • Social media monitoring

The design/ layout should follow our corporate design guidelines, which will be shared with the Online Volunteers in advance. The Online Volunteers will join regular weekly communication with the team in the country office to understand the assignments better.

Qualifications/Requirements:

 Have graduated from or enrolled in the senior year at an undergraduate degree program in social (including journalism, communication, visual design), political, economic science, or development-related disciplines.  Particular experience in visual communication is desirable.  Particular interest in the institutionalization of knowledge for aid and development as well as communications and event arrangement are assets.  Communication level of English is a must.  Computer literate in design software applications, e.g., Canva, Figma, Photoshop.  Demonstrated the ability to interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.
