The Palestine Marathon, organized under the auspices of the Higher Council for Youth and Sports, begins at Manger Square near the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem and passes through Aida, Azza and Dheisha refugee camps alongside the Wall. It is more than a race. It is a global platform for youth empowerment, dignity, freedom of movement, women’s participation, and cultural resilience. Through its Virtual Edition, individuals from every country can participate from their own cities, transforming the Marathon into a worldwide movement of solidarity. To significantly expand global reach and visibility, the Palestine Marathon aims to mobilize a large-scale network of Online Volunteers worldwide with the ambition of reaching millions of people across digital platforms. Your participation will allow you to: • Gain international campaign experience. • Expand your global youth and sports networks. • Develop practical skills in digital communications and advocacy. • Receive official UNV online volunteer certification.
Online Volunteers may choose to support one of the following teams: Team 1. International Youth Mobilization Team (300 Volunteers) • Promote the official virtual registration link. • Engage universities, sports clubs, youth groups, and diaspora networks. • Encourage country-based or group registrations. Deliverable: At least two youth networks identified or mobilized per volunteer.
Team 2. Digital Campaign & Creative Media Team (200 Volunteers) • Design youth-friendly campaign slogans, • Create engaging posts, short videos, reels, graphics, or storytelling threads. • Highlight youth leadership, women’s participation, freedom of movement, and sports culture. Deliverable: Weekly youth campaign content bundles.
Team 3. Multilingual Promotion Team (100 Volunteers) • Translate promotional materials and adapt messaging for regional youth audiences to ensure cross-cultural consistency. Deliverable: Final multilingual outreach toolkit.
Team 4. Online Media & Influencer Engagement Team (100 Volunteers) • Identify sports influencers, youth leaders, bloggers, and journalists. • Share official media kits and support amplification. Deliverable: Influencer engagement mapping and outreach summary (at least one influencer identified per volunteer).
Team 5. Youth-Focused Live Digital Reporting Team (200 Volunteers) • Provide real-time social updates from different time zones reflecting global youth participation. • Conduct short interviews (text/photo) with young participants. Deliverable: Live engagement threads and reporting contributions.
Team 6. Sports Promotion Content Team (150 Volunteers) • Develop educational or motivational content on fitness, youth health, and running culture in collaboration with HCYS and / or Palestine Marathon educators. Deliverable: One approved sports-awareness content piece per volunteer.
Team 7. Youth Feedback & Impact Analytics Team (150 Volunteers) • Collect and synthesize feedback from global youth participants and compile engagement data. Deliverable: Post-event youth insights and impact summary.
