We are looking for someone to help us raise funds for projects in rural Tanzania. It's a flexible, ongoing opportunity involving researching funding opportunities, and contributing to bids. The volunteers will not submit any funding requests on our behalf. Tanzania Development Trust has been supporting grassroots organisations in the poorest areas of rural Tanzania for 45 years. We are all volunteers, with no offices, so every pound donated goes directly to projects. Typical projects include hand drilled bore holes for clean water, locally produced rope pumps, solar panels for schools, girls hostels and small income generating projects for rural women. The Online Volunteers will not be asked to contact any third parties/donors, but to work directly with our fundraising lead and team to research and identify potential trusts and foundations to apply for and liaise with projects on the ground in Tanzania to put together budget information.

You need to have excellent spoken and written English and a passion for helping rural Tanzanians living in extreme poverty. You will need good IT skills, and be happy with remote teamworking. We are looking for someone with experience of fundraising and remote working. The ability to attend monthly meetings via Zoom is an advantage but not essential. We are ideally looking for a long term interest in international development in a Tanzanian context.
