ABOUT RESETTLEMENT, AYSLUM AND INTEGRATION

The IRC Resettlement, Asylum, and Integration (RAI) department creates opportunities for refugees and other vulnerable migrants to survive and thrive in the United States and in Europe. RAI is a leading provider of diverse programs including Resettlement & Processing, Economic Empowerment, Health & Wellness, Immigration & Citizenship, Food & Agriculture, Women’s Protection & Empowerment, Anti-Trafficking, Children & Youth, Asylum Seeking Families, Cultural Orientation Resource Exchange, Technical Assistance to Refugee Service Providers, and Office of Refugee Resettlement administration on behalf of West Texas, Kansas, and New Jersey,

With a network of 26 offices in 15 U.S. States and growing, RAI serves more than 35,000 individuals each year, among them some 10,000 newly arrived refugees, through a diverse portfolio of programs. In Europe, IRC operates across five countries and provides technical assistance to more than 10 others to ensure that the most vulnerable asylum-seekers and migrants have the necessary support to feel safe and well, get the services they need day to day, and become financially independent from the time they arrive, throughout their journeys, and in their new homes.

Job Overview/Summary:

At this time, we are rapidly mobilizing staff to support the U.S. Governments evacuation, relocation, and resettlement of tens of thousands of people from Afghanistan. The Finance Coordinator for the Afghan Evacuees Operations (AEO) will coordinate finance and accounts payable functions for all the Operation Allies Welcome locations across the US for an 11-month period.

Scope and Responsibilities:

· Process, track, reconcile and manage prepaid VISA card usage and ensure proper coding, etc on a weekly basis.

· Manage departmental credit card reconciliation including communicating with travel agencies and vendors as needed.

· Serve as liaison between Welcome locations and HQ Accounts Payable department to coordinate and communicate policies and procedures and process vendor invoices as needed.

· Assist HQ Accounts Payable with reconciling volunteer payment matrix.

· Work with site leads and AEO Operations Manager to ensure all expenses are being recorded in the month they take place.

· Work to identify accounting issues and formulate response in coordination with Deputy Regional Director and Director, Budgeting & Planning.

· Ensure adherence to IRC financial policies, SOPs and guidelines

· Other duties as assigned by Budget Officer and Director, Budgeting & Planning

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· Undergraduate degree in a related field such as Accounting or Finance.

· 5+ years accounting/financial management experience, nonprofit preferred.

· Solid computer-based accounting skills; experience with Microsoft-based accounting systems preferred.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office software suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

· Proven ability to work as a team member in a cross-cultural environment.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

· Flexile and adaptable, with the ability to effectively work in fast-paced environment.

· Demonstrated capacity to explain finance and accounting concepts to others who lack financial backgrounds.

· Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
