This is a UNV National Expert contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Expert contracts.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Project Coordinator his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Field Coordinator will support in the following:

a. Technical Leadership

  • Strengthen and expand sustainable coordination mechanisms within municipality coordination structures.
  • Collaborate with local/district government counterparts, as the chairs of the district
  • Conduct environmental policy scanning on a continuous basis and regularly update and advise the Project Coordinator accordingly
  • Develop and/or revise training and BCC/IEC materials according to local context. Work with national partners to implement relevant training.
  • Provide technical support to the development of relevant advocacy and policy =documents
  • Support overseeing the development of annual site based work plans and budgets, financial allocations and expenditures for relevant Components in the Project
  • Document activities and ensuring most effective use of the resources.
  • Support formulation of the country programme and component projects, by contributing to compilation of relevant information in support of formulation and drafting of funding proposals and / or project documents and work plans.

b. Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Collect and compile district monthly reports that capture relevant information and that support the analysis and evaluation of program progress and outcomes. In consultation with the Project Coordinator, provide feedback and guidance on the issues they raise in the reports
  • Support monitoring of programme / projects financial performance, by providing necessary financial information, including implementation rate against indicators/results; detecting potential over/under expenditure problems and proposing remedial action.
  • Supporting the evaluation of project and programme activities, conducting field visits, participating in review meetings, and preparing regular inputs to status and progress reports.

c. Administrative and Miscellaneous Duties

  • Maintain awareness of budget and expenditures in order to manage program within budget.
  • Ensure the organizational assets in the office and in the region are maintained and used in line with the UNFPA policy on asset management
  • Ensure all travel undertaken by supervisees complies with all requirements for travel and is approved in line with the travel plan
  • Write monthly work plans, monthly reports, and other reports as needed or requested.
  • Assist in writing program proposals.
  • Provide logistical support to projects through coordinating related meetings, workshops and events
  • Perform other duties as required

  • Completed Secondary Level Education required. First level university degree in Finance, Business, Public Administration or similar discipline desirable
  • Six years of relevant experience in administration, finance or office management.
  • Proficiency in current office software applications, web-based management and ERP financial systems

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials.
