Job Description

Job Summary

The Family Reunification Assistant assists the Family Reunification Coordinator with Affidavit of Relationship (AOR) applications. The assistant will primarily assist in outreach to refugee clients, ethnic community-based organizations, and religious communities to provide information on the newly expanded AOR program. They will assist in the collection of supporting application documentation and client follow up to ensure applications are complete for submission to IRC headquarters.

Major Responsibilities:

- Participate in training webinars hosted by IRC headquarters on Family Reunification Programs - Assist with community outreach to prospective eligible clients - Support the screening of interested clients - Collect information and documentation from clients for the completion of their application

- Track applications and answer client questions as needed - Maintain accurate and up-to-date files and case notes - Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Education: High school diploma strongly preferred; Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field of study preferred.

Work Experience:

- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience strongly preferred. - Experience working in refugee resettlement or the immigration field; U.S resettlement program and family reunification pathways preferred.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies

- Computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe required - Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients - Solid diplomatic and networking skills; ability to effectively manage a variety of internal and external relationships - Multi-cultural sensitivity and ability to work as a member of a team - Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, set priorities, effectively manage time, and meet deadlines; strong attention to detail - Fluency in English required. - Russian/Ukrainian/Spanish/Dari/Pashto speaking and reading ability required/strongly preferred. Other languages welcomed.

- Must have a valid driver’s license, active insurance policy, access to reliable transportation and the ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area. - In accordance with Arizona State Law, must possess or be eligible to receive a fingerprint clearance card.

Working Environment:

- A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and ‘field’ time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities.
