Overview

You have:

  • 1-3 years of proven experience in Explosive Ordnance Risk Education.
  • University degree in social science or relevant field.
  • Certificate of participation in Explosive Ordnance Risk Education Training by recognized INGO.
  • Basic knowledge in IM/GIS.
  • Full professional proficiency in English.
  • Good knowledge of Ukrainian and/or Russian.
  • Knowledge of the local language will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to manage and analyze sensitive and confidential information.
  • Previous experience in conducting interviews and surveys.

Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a qualified and motivated qualified and motivated EORE Team Leader who will lead the deployment for EORE activities following the procedures outlined in the current HDP GOP and Ukraine EORE SOP.

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to promote and protect durable solutions to conflict and displacement affected populations based on humanitarian principles and human rights. DRC is implementing a multi-sector response to support Ukraine refugees, IDPs, and host populations both within Ukraine and the neighboring countries of Poland, Romania and Moldova, and wider Europe.

Due to the ongoing conflict that began in February 2022, DRC opened offices in Poland, Moldova, and Romania to provide support to the displaced population in partnership with civil society organizations and national NGOs, duty bearers, and other actors. DRC continues to implement in these three countries through partnerships, technical assistance and capacity exchange, and direct implementation in some cases.

About the Job

The EORE Team Leader will lead the deployment for EORE (Explosive Ordnance Risk Education) activities following the procedures outlined in the current HDP GOP and Ukraine EORE SOP.

  • Assist the EORE PM in the planning of EORE tasks.
  • Implement EORE activities in compliance with relevant SOPs and guidelines, including desk assessment, individual interviews, focus group discussions, key stakeholder interviews, and reporting.
  • Directly supervise and QA EORE teams under his/her responsibility and ensure compliance with timelines, deadlines, and quality standards and SOPs.
  • Understand and follow all safety SOPs and communicate any change in the security situation to the EORE PM and Safety team.
  • Establish and maintain working relations with local authorities and with communities of intervention.
  • Establish working relations and regular Communications with security stakeholders (police, military, civil defense, vigilantes) in the areas of operations.
  • Ensure and maintain the equipment in good condition and report any damage to EORE PM.
  • Keep records of daily, weekly, and monthly activities.
  • Report progress daily to the EORE PM.
  • All other responsibilities included in the approved EORE SOP.

About You

To be successful in this role we expect you to have a minimum of 1-3 years of proven experience in EORE, ideally as a Team Leader. Moreover, we also expect the following:

  • University degree in social science or tertiary education in any other relevant field will be considered an asset.
  • Certificate/Accreditation of participation in Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (or similar) Training (ToT) by recognized INGO.
  • Knowledge of local communities; actual inhabitants of these areas are preferred.
  • Ability to manage and analyze sensitive and confidential information.
  • Previous experience in conducting interviews and surveys.
  • Basic knowledge in IM/GIS.University degree in

  • Excellent ability to work in a team.

We Offer

Contract length: March 2023 - August 2023, with the possibility of extension depending on funding.

Band: Management, G

Base salary range: From 15220 to 17644 PLN per month, depending on experience

Duty base: 1 in Warsaw, 1 in Lublin.
