Translate and proofread an 8-page report on FGM into German
You have:
- German proficiency at native-speaker level.
- Fluency in English.
- Experience in translation from English to German is essential.
- At least one of the areas of expertise is preferred: International Law, FGM/C, Women’s Health, or Human Rights.
- Knowledge and understanding of legal terminology, especially criminal law, will be a deciding factor.
- Applicants may be asked to translate a short paragraph as part of the selection process.

For the unprecedented series of The Law and FGM reports across Africa, 28 Too Many received the Trustlaw's Collaboration Award in 2018 and the Best Collaboration Initiative Award at the Lawyermag Awards in 2019. 28 Too Many have just launched the European series of The Law and FGM reports and are looking at translating them into the relevant national languages.
Translate or proof read an 8 page report all related to female genital mutilation / cutting, criminal law terminology and international conventions into German. 2 volunteers will be selected and will be given access to our home-made glossary. Coordination will be managed by 28 Too Many, direct communication will take place via email (please check your junk inbox). Two weeks will be given to each volunteer, with a possible margin if needed.
German proficiency at native-speaker level, fluent in English. Experience in translation from English to German is essential and at least one of the following areas of expertise is preferred: International Law, Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C), Women’s Health and/or Gender, or Human Rights. Knowledge and understanding of legal terminology will be a deciding factor, especially criminal law. Please give details of previous work with application.
