Overview

Support UN Colombia digital communications and reporting.

You have:

Duties and Responsibilities Under the immediate supervision of the National Information Officer at the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Bogota, Colombia, the candidate is required to support the analysis and revamping of the UN Colombia digital communications by performing the following responsibilities: - Support the identification and implementation of a monitoring system for UN-related news, social media management and social listening. - Set up the system for social media management and listening and develop guidelines and best practices for its use by the UNIC team. - Draft weekly reports of the UN Colombia social media accounts performance (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others) and provide recommendations on necessary actions to improve reach and engagement. - Monitor the UN Colombia social media accounts for comments and direct messages to gather FAQs and draft standard answers. - Support the monitoring of social media environments (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) and report any mention of or reaction to the United Nations’ work in Colombia, as well as of any major stakeholder, public institution, or public figure statement that may interest United Nations. - Monitor the news in Colombia prioritized subnational, national, and international media for content that mention the United Nations on main thematic areas, prioritized campaigns, and social and political issues that may interest UN agencies, funds and programmes, and staff. - Research and gather data and information that can improve UN positioning and communications. - Support the audiovisual production of the UNIC by creating templates for social media graphics, guidelines and best practices for livestreams, Twitter Spaces, among others. - Support writing a wide array of internal and external information and communications materials, such as reports, briefs, speeches, presentations, articles, press releases, and stories, among others. - Support other relevant information and communications activities as required. - Support the planning and implementation of other UNIC outreach activities and campaigns as necessary.

Qualifications/special skills Candidates should have studies in communications, journalism or related area or be enrolled in a relevant university programme and have experience as community manager. It is also required that candidates have strong analytical and writing skills. Candidates should have knowledge of graphic design and audiovisual production. Finally, an excellent command on social media listening and monitoring tools is highly valued. Experience in data analytics, social media listening, journalistic writing or other related fields is considered an asset.

Languages Spanish (main language, preferably mother tongue) / English (advanced).
